When we are notorious for going along with it anyway?
We complain about the indecency in the media, but we still pay ten bucks to go to the movies.
We pay 30 bucks for cable, but we cringe when a church asks us for a donation.
We talk about how bad homosexuality is, then we watch TV shows that glamourize gay men.

Should we be judged by our words, or by our deeds?

We've seen it time and time again. These so called "annointed ones" can pollitically elevate their position in the church heirarchy and lead millions into what their beliefs are and bylaws should be. Then they are busted with drugs and perversion to the furthest extent. Then they say that this is the only time that it happened and it wasn't what you thought it was. I just wonder if their followers are really as stupid as the offenders. I am a christian and just want to see what kind of input I can get by putting this subject out there. Your answers are appreciated.

1. They all agreed on one version of the Holy Bible.
2. They all agreed on one interpretation of that version of the Bible
3. They all agreed on one denomination of their faith.
4. They all followed Jesus' example of how to treat others?

No offense to anyone. It just seems that it would logical for a religion to unite as one amongst themselves first and foremost.

The holy spirit is the one going everywhere, performing miracles, or killing people for not tithing (Acts 5:1-11), so what's the use of god?

what's the best way for someone who has been outside the church for a long time to take a tentative step back?

I have wanted at different times for years to try to repair my relationship with the church, go back to confession after 16 years, discuss a lot of problems I have with the church and the dogma with an open mind.

I've had this fear of rejection though, because of too many past experiences, that I will have a bad experience if I go to my random local priest here in Brooklyn NY.

I'm interested in hearing what anyone who is practicing has to say especially if you've come back to the church yourself after some time or if you've struggled with issues of the doctrine/the institution of the church.

and if anyone is interested enough to discuss this stuff, feel free to mail me privately

someone that they are going to Hell, for saying or doing something wrong or do you try to help them? I'm asking this because I always see Christians say this to people, which gives others the impression that all Christians say this. If you do say this to people, can you think of other ways of approaching situations differently?

This weekend (Friday and Saterday) my youth group (only the girls in the youth group though) is going to a conference in another city 45 minutes away. They are going to spend the night in the city on Friday and come home on Saterday. I really want to go to the conference with them but I don't want to spend the night with them in the city of th conference. I want to go home and sleep at home and return to the city the next day. I have a problem with not being able to sleep without my parents with me. I get really scared without them. If I don't have them with me at night then I always have scary thoughts and I can't fall aleep. So I haven't spent the night anywhere without my parents for about two years now (I6 by the way). But then I really want to go to the conference and I don't want my sleeping problem to get in the way. But I'll be a wreck when it comes to bed time. What should I do? How can I get my fear to leave me at night so I can spend the night in the city? Or should I not go
