Dear Ling,

You have me at a disadvantage. I'm a Roman Catholic. You know this. I do not know you. I see that many answers are negative against Catholics, and wonder if you'll listen to mine.
1. Catholics DO NOT WORSHIP STATUES OR IDOLS.
2. Catholics ASK FOR HELP TO PEOPLE THAT ARE IN HEAVEN. Such as MARY the MOTHER of JESUS, and the SAINTS.
3. People that are NOT Catholic - why are you listening to them?
4. The Vatican has a web site, as do all Roman Catholic churches. The Priests and Nuns welcome all, and will gladly listen and answer all your questions. Straight CORRECT answers for your thoughts.
Having non-Catholics answer your questions is like me operating on someone’s heart, or do their taxes - it's wrong.

Catholics do not worship Mary, outside of the fact she is the Mother of Jesus Christ. We do not worship the Saints.
We worship the Trinity: GOD the Father, Jesus Christ GOD in human form, and the Holy Spirit which is the will of GOD. This is a great site: The Catholic Encyclopedia.
Straight and true.
Back to you - I thought long on this and hope you will listen. I don't know if your anti catholic, as some of your thumbs up answerers are. I of course can't MAKE you see any truth you don't want to. And I may be wrong maybe there are people worshiping - incorrectly - but worshiping Mary and the saints instead of GOD, and if Mary could she would stop them faster than lightning, and the saints are not happy either as this is not what they want either. These fine people are too humble and selfless to even begin to think so pridefully.
Now everyone is human, except Jesus. And there are back stories from them all. And gossip, humans love gossip.
The best way to be clear about what MOST believe is to just focus on JESUS. this is what I do. As Jesus fulfilled the O.T., and replaced the 10 commandments with 2, my life is easier. Humans use the 10 to run their daily lives, and that’s very good - but Catholics run their lives by the words and actions of Jesus, and not worldly concerns.

I noticed the number of Catholic questions and this answer covers them also. Before I forget again, Roman Catholics are the first Christians. ALL and I mean ALL Christians branch from the root and trunk of the tree of Roman Catholicism. No one will say this because of all the worldlyness and petty humanity that went into breaking away from the Church.
Actually many of the reasons for the break up was REAL, and Protestants take their name from this important issue. Then as time moved on many broke for less and less real reasons, and now - in the USA -you can form a church just because you can. Just gather a few people fill out the forms and most governmental offices will recognize your faith. Also many of the faiths actually killed off or ruined by the EARLY church actions are back, and many are pissed, and don't hold back to remind everyone how dangerous and evil the Roman Catholic church is, or how it has so much wealth.
So good questing, as you move along this planet. I hope you find peace and live a long happy life. Good night.

No. Christians worship Christ.

Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, and Methodist Churches.

The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.

Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.

As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or, you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.

Prayer to saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.

There are some cults outside of Christianity and Catholicism that worship Mary and the saints.

With love in Christ.

First of all, I have no idea what variety of Catholic schooling (or might be you did not) you obtained due to the fact I have went Catholic faculties the entire method and feature continuously truely been prompted to learn the Bible. It turns out as for those who could have simply copied and pasted just about so much of this "query" from a internet site. I'm no longer judging you or something in any respect, the structure simply appears variety of like that, and I'm simply inquiring for this internet site (whether it is precise that you simply took it from there) as a way to see might be in context what the webmaster is making an attempt to mention. I am Catholic and so much of this, if no longer all is fake, and might take many paragraphs to reply. You sound very earnest and actual and I might love to speak about this extra- so I'll simply ship you an electronic mail on the deal with you gave. But in case you have a second would you provide me the web page (for those who used one in every of path) in which you observed this all? (it might extensively aid)

That is not true. I am a Catholic Christian, and we only worship God. We honor the saints and the Virgin Mary and ask them to pray for us.

Last time I checked, Catholics are Christians and no, they don't worship saints. They just pray to them and Mary, but apparently keep God and Jesus in the forefront...and if they aren't Christians, then why are Catholic churches filled with crucifixes?

Roman Catholics pray to saints. They light candles in front of the statues of saints (they have to pay for the candles)). This is one of the reasons (95in all) for the protestant revolt.
The Episcopal (Church of England) marries gays and allows priests to be active gays.
Most Protestant Congregations are fundamental Gospel believing groups.
Jesus didn't wear fancy lace or gold trimmed red cloaks either,so I don't see how the Pope can be Christs Representative on earth either.

No I remember my mom kissing a statue of Mary and kneeling in front of the statue. She prayed and worshipped the statue which supposedly represented Mary.
