I am going to try and answer your question as honestly as possible. I am a christian so that is where I am basing this answer on. Going to the conference with your youth group can be an awesome opportunity for you, you must remember fear is not of God. Pray and ask your youth group and parents to pray also that God will remove that fear of being away overnight. God can do anything. He loves you and WILL answer your prayers. Know that the scary thoughts do come from satan and you have the power through God to tell him to leave you alone, he has no choice but to leave. Then pray for God's peace. I too will pray for you. I do hope you enjoy your conference :)

Do you really think that your parents being in the same boulding can make you any more safe? You are being irrational, and I really feel sorry for your parents at the selfishness you are showing. its time to grow up and take responsibility for your own life. Go to the conference, and learn to depend on yourself to scare away the boogiemen.

I say go...ask your parents to write you a letter that you could read that night of the conference...and leave them one to. Just start taking baby steps...and the letter from them will help you sleep.

Girl, see it as an opportunity to gain power over your fears, you are with friends and that should comfort you, trust in them you will not be alone.
If you don't go to this thing you really want to then you might regret it in the future, think about all of what you'll miss if you don't experience things like this

There probably isn't a quick fix for this kind of a problem. You really should see a psychologist about this. With the right help and guidance you might be OK for the next conference.
Good luck.

Your parents won't be with you all your life, along the long run. You should try it out. How about some sleeping pill just for that night?
