Although I'm a atheist, if your faith in your religion is strong enough, it will help overcome the mental barriers that you have put up. Mind over matter my friend

If you can imagine Jesus doing that, then it is possible... but would it really be Jesus or you doing the miracle?
It doesn't matter and that's okay. At a very timid 15 years of age my belief in Christ helped me to help end my father's alcoholism, and he was a HARDCORE violent drunk with a ruined brain.
But if you are using your desire for a miracle as an excuse to not work on yourself or to prove the existence of God, Christ won't lift a finger. Nor will your internal imaginary messiah save you if you have such doubt.
I had success because I never expected it, it was an accident, except for telling the truth at a very difficult moment. I shared my unconditional love that I learned from Christ, endangering my own life in the process.
Christ's story motivated me to heal others, and I share this now with you.
Try finding ways to delay the addiction. If you can delay them long enough they will weaken and events will start to draw you away. Drink lots of quality water to flush out the toxins. Sleep is a good start, stay in bed as long as necessary to outlast the cravings. Exercise is also very good... natural hormones feel better than any drug because your body was designed for them.
Helping others is a good distraction and a good reason to stop an addiction. There are levels of addictions to go through as well, don't hang on to one addiction because it is milder than another, but it is okay to use them if it stops the cravings for something worse.
Just be honest about it. The more truth you tell the less you will be able to cheat yourself. Keep constantly vigilant against both internal and external voices to abuse yourself or the truth. Be painfully real and you will begin to see real beauty.
You are sacred... but you need to clean house. If it takes a lifetime... that is okay, all of us have to do this for all of our lives or we suffer, that's just natural law. Anybody who denies it is lying to themselves.
Avoid anybody or anyplace that encourages abuse, sometimes just changing your sleep schedule or screening calls can accomplish this.
Remember that as long as you are alive, you can change. There is always tomorrow, and everything changes. And for now, you don't have to do anything except STOP.
I hope this helps.
Blessings,
P.S. I'm not a Christian, please don't make this a Christian thing. All I know is what happened to me, I can't prove anything about Christ except that I know what is right and wrong when I see it and therefore I know that UNCONDITIONAL love is the only true love and it is the most powerful force in human history. Sorry to ramble, it seemed important.

I am Agnostic and i firmly belive that the answer is no, "jesus" has never done anything for me in my life, or helped me get over any problems and addictions. Its all up to you, you have to put the initiative into freeing yourself from the addictions, no matter how much you pray you will never wake up one morning without a craving for a cigarette (or whatever ur on), its scientifically proven it cant happen. If you want to be free of your addictions you have to do it for youself or at least get some professional help. That is what will remove the addictions from you life.

I don't know. I know that people have addictions to things because they are seeking to fill a very deep need and they use stuff to fill it that usually is bad for them.
Since Jesus fills those needs, I would not be surprised if, the more a person comes to know the Lord and allows God to make their life over....the less need for artificial means of fulfillment will be necessary.
I can't say I was ever really "addicted" to anything, but God did fulfill my deepest needs. And continues to.

Look I was addicted to drugs and alcohol and ciggerrettes and six years ago i recieved the Holy Ghost and God delivered me from everything with no help from any outside source. Pray and seek the face of God and he will deliver you. You have to have faith and do not doubt God.

I personally don't believe that the Messiah will help anyone who is not willing to help themselves, if you take the necessary steps towards recovery he will walk beside you and make your problem (whatever it may be) easier to overcome but he isn't going to help you unless you truly want to be helped

i dont think he'll just do it for you, but you can pray and ask him for help. He'll help you. Meanwhile, you can read the bible and fight your addictions, praying every time you even think of doing whatever your addiction is.
