Ghosts are a fairly modern western idea. The ancients, the Hebrews, Greeks, etc, did not believe in ghosts as we do. The closest the Greeks had to ghosts were called daemon, but they were NOT ghosts, they're just as close to ghosts as the Greeks had. And the word used for God is never daemon, it is the Greek word meaning spirit. God is a spirt, not a ghost. Unless you buy into modern spirituality, you would never conclude that God is a ghost.

in the original greek writing of the new testament, the word ghost came from the word phantasma and means a disembodied ghost. I did not say spirit, because the greeks considered that a term reserved for heavenly creatures. i'm rusty however, have forgotten the greek word for spirit; and it's never Holy Ghost in the bible, that's more english misdirection.
