What makes you think this man got away with anything?
He was caught the second he committed himself to these acts. Just because you and I do not know about it doesn't mean that he wasn't caught. As a Christian you should understand nothing is out of sight of God, what you do in the dark is seen by the light, and you answer for it. Despite our humanity we are still loved by our Holy Father. So is this man. That does not mean that God likes what he has done, God understands, He doesn't like it anymore than He liked Cains attitude and actions. He understood and marked Cain so that the self righteous would not carry a grudge for God. If a grudge is to be held then God can do it on His own... He doesn't need our help thank-you very much.
If you think the man got away with it then you must think that he isn't hurting right now. I believe he is in pain and I believe his hurts are valid. The man brought it on himself but still he is a human being and he hurts. Let God take care of him. We can't do it sufficiently.
I hope this is a help to you and God's love to you.

My first thought is that a man cannot go out and start his own church, this is not the precedence that Christ set forth in his teaching for beginning a church, so for me his whole position is questionable to start with. My second thought is "if we only knew" how many live double lives, be they church leaders or just Christians, we would be saddened. My third thought is that they don't get away with it - even if it appears so to us - it doesn't appear so to God and the judgment he hands down will have its penalty to pay.

I am a Christian and it bothers me a great deal because it harms the kingdom of God.
Non-believers just wait for this stuff so they can call Christians hypocrites, etc.
He didn't get away with it in the sense that he had to step down - but what was in his heart is between him and God, and the results that follow. It must be very painful.

The church has protection and many tax and other priviliges. It is naturally an exceedingly tempting place for the criminals who want to do pervert things under the cover of religion. No body should be immune from normal prosecution procedures, whether a clergyperson or other.

You might think he or she is getting away with it, but in reality, only God has the right to judge that person, not any of us, and if he's lying on top of getting caught doing drugs or illicit sex, he's adding more sins to the pile, if you get my drift. I believe anybody can sin against God, but if they repent, and ask God's forgiveness, He will forgive them because His Son, Jesus, died on the cross to pay for all of our sins, whatever they are. I also believe their ministry will suffer if they don't actually repent from their sins, because the sin will not be God's will for their life, and their relationship with God will grow cold and meaningless.

Yes, this pastor made some bad choices and he and him family will suffer because of his sin and God will punish him for the sin that he committed no doubt, however God does forgive and loves to do it, so who are any of us to say that we should condem such a thing when there are far worse things that occur in this world.

He didn't get away with it.
He lost everything he worked for.
He has become a joke for Christians and non-Christians alike.
He will never be taken seriously again...his life is ruined.
