No. He is called Dios and Senor.

I'm not a Catholic, but I'm a native speaker of Spanish. And no, God is never called 'el sol'. That is actually Spanish for 'the sun'. God is Dios.

God, our Creator, is not referred to as "El Sol" (the sun).
However, if you are asking because you have heard the term (in Spanish) of a "dios del sol" that is actually one of the Aztec gods; not the Catholic GOD.
