God says in the Bible that there shall be no other god before him so why do Catholics pray to Saints and the Virgin Mary to help them ???

There are 3 basic beliefs regarding our existance...

1) Believer - believes in a creator
2) Agnostic - believes there may be a creator, but isn't convinced
3) Atheist - states to know without a doubt that a creator does not exist

The first two are natural and logical positions, but to be an atheist (to absolutely KNOW that God doesn't exist) you would have to be omniscient and have perfect knowledge of the universe. Can anyone here make that claim?

The fact is, atheists do not KNOW that God doesn't exist. Atheists don't WANT God to exist because to acknowledge Him they would have to face their sin, so they willfully deny His existance.

I am a Believer and becasue I am interested in the why's of life (My Life) more so then the questions about how come and I find many of those answers in the spiritual realm.

blame you because you are not being able to relate to your own mother? She is sick, neurotic and influences everybody against me. I am 50 years old and I can not stand anymore to be compared to her or to be blamed because she is the way she is. My ex (who bisexual and told me years ago) brainwashed my kids, he takes my mother's side, there are times, like now, I feel in despair because I don't have anyone to count on and to talk with with exception of very few friends who seem so busy and I need to work, but I only wanted a work of encouragement. God knows it is impossible to be with my mother. I have to stay away to keep my mental health. But my children blame me for that and I don't know what else to day. It seems everything I say turns against me. Please, say something............I am not a bad person, I am hard-work, I have good feelings, but it is so hard to accept my mother and to be with her. She drives me insane, she told me she knows she is mean. What to do?

Because basing classroom instruction on mythology and fairy-tales is just about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
Thankfully, that embarrasing period in American history is behind us. Time to start teaching science in school, and mythology and fairy-tales in church.
As it should be.

Joshua was 40 years old when Moses sent him to spy out Canaan (Joshua 14:7). Jesus was in the wilderness tempted of the devil for forty days and nights (Mark 1:13; Luke 4:2). David reigned over Israel 40 years (1 Kings 2:11). Solomon reigned over Israel 40 years (1 Kings 11:42). Othniel was a judge over Israel for 40 years (Judges 3:11).

Does the number 40 have any spiritual meaning??

Apparantly they are supposed to be same place. Golgotha was Aramaic for skull because the area supposedly looked like a skull (I don't get the connection from any pics I've seen but to each their own). So where does the name Calvary come from out of that? It's not Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, etc.

I am a sinner!!! I was born from sin!!!! I live my life in sin, because I do not believe that the bible it to be taken literally. Some would say I have the devil in me, because when I lay my hands on people I can heal them with energy from the source like Jesus did.
I hear the trees talk to me, and I dance with the fairies. I have many atheist friends, and many christian ones as well. I ask many questions instead of not having any. I question god, because I question myself. I believe god is a word to express the goodness of man, and it lives within us all. I believe Jesus was a man who died as a result of our sins upon him, if even he ever lived. And I love everyone, and I get angry from the hypocricy of peoples mouth and their eyes that can only judge others, and not themselves. I for halloween went as an atheist and failed, once I saw the big sky. I have read Dantes inferno 3 times just for kicks, and masturbation seems something neccessary to me. SHould I fear for my soul?

are on the board? Not atheists. Atheists DONT think there is a God of any kind. Im looking for Agnostics, those of you that arent sure there is a God of some kind or another. Just curious. I see lots of posts by Atheists, but not many Agnostics. My hubby is Agnostic, and we were discussing it, so I thought Id ask.
