are on the board? Not atheists. Atheists DONT think there is a God of any kind. Im looking for Agnostics, those of you that arent sure there is a God of some kind or another. Just curious. I see lots of posts by Atheists, but not many Agnostics. My hubby is Agnostic, and we were discussing it, so I thought Id ask.

No, not looking to convert. Like I said, I married an Agnostic, I love him just the way he is, not here to change minds!

I'm kind of a bi-believer :
Technically speaking I am an agnostic because I can't prove the existence of god one way or the other.
However, I am currently working under the assumption that there is no god because of the utter lack of evidence.
Some people just like to sit on the fence, I guess.

This is a common misconception. Gnosticism pertains to what one knows, theism pertains to what one believes. Therefore they are mutually exclusive terms. Almost everyone in the world will claim that they don't KNOW on an absolute level what they believe pertaining to the existence of god to be true. That goes for both theist and atheist. So it is possible to be an agnostic Christian or agnostic atheist. Most atheist aren't "hard atheists" meaning most atheist don't feel they KNOW that there is not a god. It comes down to what you BELIEVE with the presented information. Most "agnostics" will say "I don't know what I believe; neither can be proven nor disproven." That's where belief comes in. Ask your husband not what he knows but what he believes. If he thinks there is a god but he doesn't know which god/religion/denomination he affiliates with, if any, he would be considered a Deist, but none the less a theist. If he doesn't think so, but is not sure, he would be a "soft atheist". There are usually two types of "agnostics", apathetic agnostics that aren't tormented by the important questions and those that can't help but ask themselves and others the tough questions which, from my experience usually ends in atheism.
I went from being a Christian to claiming to be agnostic for three years before I was comfortable with the title of atheist because atheism has such a negative stigma. Claiming to be agnostic may bat an eye, but stating that you are atheist knocks the wind out of people.
So if you're looking for an agnostic, you found one right here. I can tell you that I'm an agnostic. But I'm also an atheist.

Agnostic and Atheist are the same thing (no faith in religion.) Agnostic just sounds nicer so many Atheist call them self Agnostic to avoid persecution. Some one who believes in a god of some kind or other are Deists.

I am what is called a weak atheist or an agnostic atheist, which means that I believe that the existence (and non-existence) of a deity is unproveable. I therefore operate under the assumption that it does not exist, just as I do with other things that are unproveable.

If i'd label myself, I would call myself agnostic atheist, probably. I'm kinda convinced there is no God, but of course I'm not sure.
