I am a Believer and becasue I am interested in the why's of life (My Life) more so then the questions about how come and I find many of those answers in the spiritual realm.

Honestly I think my Faith in now way comprimises my ability to think rigorously as a scientist.

Maybe your Arrogance is the problem.

Well....

...yeah. You do. You go against what it means to be skeptical, scientific, and logical. Sorry, but that's the way it is. No offense.

There's nothing inherently WRONG with your position, but I certainly wouldn't take it. But that's just me. Not you. And you're not me. You're you. Stay fresh and true to yourself. Don't worry about what other people think.

Don't worry, I laugh at everyone, regardless of whether you believe in a god or not.

The definition of faith is a firm belief in something that cannot be proven. Do you still believe in santa claus? What about the tooth fairy or the easter bunny? Because belief by definition stands outside of proof. If you can prove it, you don't need to believe it. So you can never say you believe in god, just have faith.

Its not a question of faith, but believing in something that makes you feel good. It gives people peace to believe in god and in heaven. So you shouldn't lose your credibility but you can say that you base your decisions on how much they would benefit your life and fulfill your wants, instead of basing it on reality and what you know.

You were quite rude with the arrogance comment, I don't know why you'd add that when it seems to have come only from anger.

A believer in your god only loses credibility when they start spouting their religion to me like I believe in it when I've told them I haven't. They lose their credibility when they say that the solution to every problem is in the bible. Solve breast cancer using only the bible. Solve child abuse, spousal abuse.

As a scientist they do not lose their credibility unless they absolutely refuse to even think of evolution as possible because their bible says so. Scientists are supposed to have open minds about their fields.

Science tries to PROVE,
And God can not be proved.

Me and my b/f were watching Star wars last night and I never noticed the religiouse significance.
The war between the republic and the jedi symbolize the struggle between science and religion.

I believe, once man was opened minded for magic to walk the earth, but science evolved and people started casting all magic out, when something magical happens, ie, a miricle,
It is covered up by scientific evidance, so magic is covering it's tracks.
Just giving you my insight. God Bless

Yeah, pretty much. Faith violates one of the three pillars of knowledge, those three assumptions we must all make if we are to know anything.

1. Math & Logic are valid. If logic was not valid, we could not prove anything and thus not know anything.
2. Our observations, unaided or aided, are valid; aids must be supported mathematically and via trusted observation. If observation was not valid, we could not accept information to apply logic to, and thus we could not know anything.
3. IF a supernatural exists, it does not interfere with the universe. If the supernatural interfered, we could never establish permanency since the supernatural could change its mind any time, and we could not know anything.

Faith goes against that #3 thing, if you want to assert anything other than deism.

Faith is the excuse for ignorance. If ignorance is bliss, believers must be having never-ending explosive orgasms.

Yes. Because belief in a god is not scientific. It's only a belief.

You are correct and all the answers to everyday problems are in the holy bible and all one needs to do is take time and read and prople will not have so many questions and scorn and laugh at believers or God.
