I want to start and atheist and agnostics club on campus but I've ran into some barriers. First of all I need 9 other people who want to join but I don't know how to ask someone? Being Atheist or Agnostic is not something someone advertises. Second of all, what would a club like this talk about or do. I've already decided that the club will do charity and that criticism of other religions will eb prohibited and that we would try and find more similarities rather than differences between religions. But what else? Anyone have any ideas?

Mark 4:26-29 "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain--first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come." What does the parable mean? What is Jesus intending to teach? This parable has always confused me.

i'm a christian and a wiccan at the same time, :) confused? it's because the bible was altared, in the bible's before king james it said: thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live.not witch wich means that the old test. doesnt have anything against witches, infact back then (in old test. times) the priests were shown to use witchcraft as a religious practice, but along the way they did it less (people thought it made them gods, they started getting worshipers) and then christ came and said not to use magick anymore (most likley for that reason) so it isnt going against god "if you know how to use it the right way" use it the way god would have wanted you to.
i dont serve two masters, i have one god, not two i worship the one god, no others! but i believe there is a goddess if you read the Genesis then you will see that god was speaking about more then one god, like in this Genesis 3:22 "and the lord god said, behold, the man is now become one of "us" to know good and evil
and in prov.

Vehement arguments with self righteous religious people who "know" they're right and think they are the only people in the whole world who, by way of their absolute KNOWLEDGE that they have all the answers and that if only people would believe that the other 5 billion humans god created in his image that aren't like them are going to hell, just maybe, they could bask in his light with them?

&: A shot in the dark here on the other ½-

Self righteous atheists, equally positive logic explains all that is, even though everything about the Universe is completely illogical, proven by how thinking about questions such as, "what was there before the big bang?" & "if the universe is expanding, who's space are we taking up?" torture the logical mind. Another "guess": Sure as the religious nuts feel Yahoo Answers is THE place to proselytize, the atheists feel just as sure they're robbing people of their faith with pure cynicism & lack of creativity, Right?

Or am I in bizarro world?

A close neighbor has passed away, and I would like to prepare some food for her family during this time. I am not Jewish and I'm not aware of the traditions surrounding this sad time. I am also now aware as to how kosher or non-kosher the family is. I would like to prepare something that is kosher, just to be considerate. Is this possible in my kitchen?

Genesis 3

17 And to the man he said,

“Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree
whose fruit I commanded you not to eat,
the ground is cursed because of you.

22 Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings[e] have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” 23 So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden,

Matthew 5:5 - "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."

Psalm 37:9-11, 29 - "For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. – The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it."

Proverbs 2:21, 22 - "For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it."

What do these passages mean as they relate to your beliefs about our heavenly destiny?

Thank you.
