What happened was that the nets got filled with fish and it means that we can accomplish nothing being on our own, pursuing our own goals.
But doing just the same thing while being in his will gets us blessed far more than we would have ever expected.

And this kind of miracle still happens!

their nets were filled with fish, to the point where the nets were about to break and their boat threatened with sinking because there were so many fish, and they had to signal their friends in the other boats to come and help. .

this is after fishing all night and not finding anything -

They were skeptical when he told them to let down their nets on the other side (of the boat), and said, "we've been fishing all night with not a trace, but if YOU say so, we will, just cause it's you saying it" (essentially that was their attitude), and then just at that moment Jesus created thousands of fish right below their boat, and they were blown away.

Btw, Jesus' life, death and resurrection is better documented than those of Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great (or even the Pretty-Good), and Plato combined.

they are established facts of history, and no amount of trying to re-write history will change them.

Pretty sure this is what you're referring to:

Peter and Andrew had been fishing all night and caught nothing. In the morning, Jesus wanted to use their boat to speak to the people --water increases the acoustics of voices when there were no microphones-- After speaking, Jesus said "Launch out..." and Peter did after telling him basically, "i'm only doing this because you said so" and so many fish were caught that the boat began to sink.

Hope that helps.

Hi, the Apostles who had been out all night without a single catch, caught a large haul of fish when they did what Jesus said.
this miracle was for the Apostles sake to show how many souls would be netted by them for the sake of the Gospel.

I did not find a "miracle". The nets which had been barren before were filled, if that is the miracle you are referring to.

Luke, Chapter 5, Verses 1-11:

"(1)And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, (2)And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. (3)And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. (4)Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, "Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught." (5)And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing; nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. (6) And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. (7)And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. (8) When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. (9)For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken. (10)And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, "Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men." (11)And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. -[King James Version]

Professional fishermen who had fished all night caught nothing, but a carpenter told them where to drop the net and they had a record catch.
Some may say it was luck. But those who fish for a living would call it a miracle.
