Would you call the police because a mob was threatening rape?

Or, would you call the police because a mob was threatening homosexuality?

This basically is the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. The story also includes Lott’s willingness to offer his two virgin daughters to appease the mob. (I’ll refrain from comment on that.) I really don’t see anything in this story that’s taking issue with two same sex people in a committed relationship.

And for those who will refer to Romans… pretty clearly seems to be talking about rampant promiscuity and prostitution which includes homosexual acts. Again, this scripture isn’t talking about two loving same sex people in a committed relationship. How do Christians get to homosexuality as abomination based on these scriptures???

Is anybody in it just to be a good person or is everyone in it to go to Heaven? and if you are doing it to get into heaven would you not then be in religion for self ritious reasons and still be sentencing yourself to hell?

Delilah is often depicted as an evil temptress who persuaded Samson to tell her the secret of his strength. However, a lot of people seem to forget the fact that the Philistines were the enemy of the Jews, and Samson was sleeping with the enemy! If anything, Samson brought his downfall upon himself. Also, there are two lessons to be learned from this story: don't sleep with the enemy and don't think with the wrong head.

Just talking to someone else, and told him how once in school a girl told me; "Pokemon is satanic, because if you turn the P into a D and put it behind the K it says OK Demon!"
(Which technically makes Christmas satanic, cause Santa Clause is an anagram for SATAN Clause)
I grew up in a very conservative Protestant Christian community, and people believed all kinds of weird things like this, like that wearing black lipstick or nail varnish meant you're a devil worshipper.
Who else has experianced people like this and what is the weirdest thing you have heard them believe?

It is a proven statistic that the suicide rate is highr than the homocide rate. The link I provided is from 2001. And the ratio for suicide to homocide was 3:1. And for 2000, it was 5:1. That means it jumped from 1:15 to 3:15 in just one year(these are homocide and suicide deaths). And the majority of those who commit it successfully in this country are native americans. And the attempted suicide ranges from 8-25 per successfull suicide. Do you believe that all of these people end up in hell for eternity for not accepting jesus as thier personal lord and savior? Or just for committing suicide? I personally won't accept that doctrine. It just does not seem "just" to have a people's land stolen from them, make them lose thier ancestrial heritage, suffer for the covets of mankind, and then say they are damned to hell. Where is the justice in that? And do all of the slaves that were tortured, murdered, and labored for free to build this nation go to hell also? Where is the "justice"?

I mean, many preachers and pastors say that God is Soverign and that God does and can do whatever He wants to. Dosen't that sound kind of negative? I mean, if you read the Bible-espcieally the book of Psalms, you see that God is loving, mercifull, compassionate, gracious, etc etc etc.

religion is meant for peace and good morality but it has spurred violence (religions are like tribes and if one tribe doesn`t like the other, you can only guess) this is because of Human nature we are all competitive when we are set in groups and are different. If we had no religeon there would be no war... no fighting,
Do we really NEED religion?
----------------------------------
to people that says islam is the best religeon in the world: Open your eyes, if you think outside the box and not rapidly assume on behalf of islam, there is no god, i'm sorry but there isn`t. God was just made by our forefathers to give us hope when we feel sad its our interpretation of happiness and joy.

Why do I have to be a Chrisitan to believe in God? What gives Christian's a monopoly on what's right and wrong for an idividual? I think the belief in God is just that why do i have to believe in Jesus or any other religion for that matter?

If he is all powerful and perfect and not human...why does he have the need to rest? Living things require rest to rebuild cells,What does he need rest for? As parents we dont bring our children into this world and then descide to take a nap while they are neglected and suffering. How many of us would bring children into this world and then tell them to look thru this book that we left for them and if they can figure out all the clues then they will be blessed and allowed to be our child and given everything. And then we say to them" While your searching for me I'll be taking a rest ( for thousands and thousands of years) and when they ask why they need to do this we tell them, not to question our love, everything will be o.k, have faith. Does this sound like a loving devoted parent?

(with the current exception of the iraq sunni & shittes)
all muslims, buddhist, hindus have no conflict among themself WITHIN their own religion. Atheist & agnostic have no conflict too in their set of beliefs or codes

why then, christians have conflict & differences among themself. catholics versus protestants, non-pentecostal vs pentecostal, fundamentalist vs liberals, mormon vs main stream churches vs JW ?

I've been told that females have been punished with menstrual cycles, childbirth, and menopause because of Eve's sin, but does this really make any sense? After all, Homo sapiens isn't the only animal species in which the females have menstruation or livebirth. Also, what about the animal species that reproduce sexually but don't have menstruation or livebirth? And what about the species that reproduce asexually? Does it make sense for God to punish humans and some other animal species but not others?
