If christianity was such a great religion they whould help others without resorting to disrespect of other religions by trying to push thier religion onto them. If christianity was so great then why have so many non christians been beaten to death or burned to death by christians? If christianity is so great, then why do christians make excuses for the bad ones?

I fail to understand how someone can look at Mount Rushmore, and know instantly that somebody designed and created it, and instantly rule out millions of years of erosion. Yet, when they look at the complexity of the human body, they come up with the conclusion that no creator exists.

If you wanted to know where Mount Rushmore came from, you'd consult a history book, you certainly wouldn't go and study the present facts and try to base your conclusion solely on that. You'd be wrong!

Likewise, if you wanted to know where humans came from, what point is there in studying only what you see today? If God exists, he was there, He should know! Did he write about it? YES, That's why we study the Bible, and not "man-made" ideas that change every couple of years.

That's all, comments welcome!

This is an earnest inquiry. Please explain how an "Intelligent Entity" of some sort (i.e., Energy / Life Force or an actual Creator Being referred to as their "God") could NOT be responsible for setting the universe in motion - devising and putting into motion the Laws of Nature for our planet (at least) - and then everything since that point has been "cause and effect" - including what Darwin and other scientists discovered about the evolutionary tree.

I do believe in a Creator because everything on the planet is so intricately complex and amazing, and if it is human BEINGS who are DISCOVERING these intricacies, then maybe a higher BEING devised them. Of course it is not an provable hypothesis, but who is to say it is absolutely false either?

Is it just Atheists + other Christians that believe the 2 schools of thought have to be mutually exclusive? Couldn't the story of Creation be allegorical? For those scientists who believe both - how do you explain yourselves to others?

Norm: If Jesus is God, why didn't Jesus ever prove that he is God?
Chris: He did! He performed many miracles, and he was resurrected. That proves that he is God!
Norm: Why did he not prove that he is God in a way that is definitive and scientifically provable -- for example, by moving a mountain?
Chris: He could not do that! That would take away man's free will to believe in him. People must come to God through faith.
Norm: Why, then, did Jesus perform the miracles described in the Gospels?
Chris: To prove that he is God. If he had not done the miracles, culminating in his final most miraculous resurrection, we would not know that he is God.
Norm: I thought that if Jesus performed miracles to prove that he was God, then it took away our free will.
Chris: No.
Norm: Isn't that what you just said?
Chris: No. What I just said is that Jesus' miracles prove that he was God.
Norm: So why didn't Jesus perform real, concrete miracles like moving a mountain?

There are more genetic similarities between humans and chimpanzees than there are between Asian and African elephants. If evolution doesn't account for it, what does?

we pray more out of fear, or out of greed. probably even all the religious institutions like the church, mosques and others have turned the prayer to god as a money making business or to control humans. hence they preach if u dont do this or do that u will go to hell. if u obey u go to heaven. In reality there is no hell or heaven, except here and now. better to enjoy every moment of this life without worrying about god. neither the pope nor the preacher has in reality met God.
