I was digging and found the ark of the covenant. However I dont know who to give it to since inside of it was the Scientology book Dianetics, the golden tablets of the book of Mormon and the children's book 'my pet goat'.

Maybe the authors were inspired by the creator to write, but it WAS NOT written by God. God was not there telling man what to write either, why would a god need to do that?

I had some negative posts on faith so I want to pursue this.

Scientists (or businessmen) must have extra-ordinary faith that their efforts, experiments, analysis will prove or discover a new area of knowledge (or income). If they have no faith, they will not proceed. They use their ability of reasoning and action to succeed. This is true for artists, entrepreneurs, statesmen, and others.

Believers must have extra-ordinary faith that their belief in God, their efforts in living a moral life, their growing in God’s word, and even sacrifice, will ultimately prove that they made the right choices when they are judged by God. If they have no faith, they will not do what they need to do, when the moment comes, in all the actions they take.

Do you give regularly to charities? Do you serve the homeless food? Do you visit kids missing one or more parents and encourage them? Do you take meals to ailing friends or family?

If you do any of the above, please indicate how often.

Don't feel obligated to answer all of the above, only the ones that apply. I just want honest, sincere input.

I lost my 6 year old daughter to cancer 2 years ago and i have been having this debate with my mother in law over where she is at now. You see im catholic and I believe she is in Heaven while my mother in law who is a jehova witness says she is not in heaven but in a room somewhere waiting for judgement, she also tells me Jesus is not God but the son of God and he was put to death on a stake not crucified. I argue with her and tell her Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit are one and she say's that is not possible, she also tells me that if I do not convert i will go to hell. Can you please answer our debate's here and give me your opinion??

I am sad to say that i am getting disheartened by the stupidity and brain deadity of a lot of contributors on Yahoo Answers. Whilst it is easy to spot a question that is not worth giving a nanosecond's input to for whatever reason. People post their questions in the wrong sections, -some people are just total arses and spout off with no regard for building up rather than tearing down. People attack each other and their beliefs. It is right and wrong , black and white , your wrong and i'm right. Now i have a sense of humour and like a good laugh but i find less and less of the content entertaining.
I think we should be making an effort to get the bad apples out . I am all for the freedom to say whatever we want. and to express our individual views. Ami expecting too much ? Is this site mobbed by ignorant teenagers who do not know any better ? am i wrong ? What do you think ?

“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was even an earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth; while as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, or the primal dust of the world.

When He prepared the heavens, I was there, when He drew a circle on the face of the deep, when He established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep, when he assigned the sea its limit, so that the waters would not transgress His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside Him as a Master Craftsman.” -- Proverbs 8:22-30

How would anyone back then know that the mountains arose and were not created when the Earth was created? This did not take one day. [more to write but out of characters]

What gives you that glory feeling in your chest? What gets a fire burning inside of you? What has stamped out depression in your lives? What puts the smile on your face from day-to-day?

I'm looking for honest answers. I'm not implying anything with my questions.

I think the media is responsible for attacks on any religions and creating a mass unrest on debating whether that one particular religion is considered as evil. I vote that any media through any means do not attached the word of any religions to a particular word such as terrorist etc as it would only leave a bad impression and creates more riots, protests and unrest.
Freedom of speech does not means not respecting one's believe.

i would like to know why all the greatest achivements of mankind and structure on which we base all our govermental systems and political stuctures were all created before the big three religions had control over peoples lives, the obvious one is the egyptians they built the pyramids and huge temples thousands of years before the big three, then theres the greeks who many a scolars said had the most democratic system of goverment ever, or the romans who built a huge empire covering all the known world at the time who only converted to christanity to try and save the empire, or the how about the chinese built the only man made object capable of being viewed from orbit without any concept of the big three. what is it about the big three religions that has stopped the human from creating works that astound and become symbols for humanity?
