I don't have a clue what an aethiest is. I know what an Atheist is and the difference between one of them and an agnostic is that the latter is a fence sitting chicken sh!+, which still makes them miles ahead of any silly religionist/superstitionist believer.

An atheist rejects the idea of religous Dieties (God, Allah, etc.) while an agnostic believes in the philisophical view that the truth value of certain claims (particularly theological claims regarding the existence of God, gods, or deities) is unknown or inherently unknowable. Some agnostics take a stronger view that the concept of a deity is incoherent, thus meaningless and irrelevant to life. It is important to note that both agnostics and atheists can be quite spiritual. I hope I answered your question : )

The term 'agnostic' was coined by Thomas Huxley and it refers quite simply to a person who holds the view that it is wrong to assert the truth of a proposition without logically satisfactory evidence.
So, an agnostic would say that it's wrong to say "God exists" or "No gods exist" without the argument or evidence to back it up. Moreover, the agnostic would say that it's immoral for a person to tell someone else that they *ought* to believe in the existence of a god or gods without providing logically satisfactory evidence to support that claim.
A 'theist' is defined as someone who believes in the existence of a god or gods, so an atheist is anyone who is not a theist.
So you can be agnostic and also an atheist, or agnostic and a theist, or not agnostic and an atheist, or not agnostic and a theist.

Atheists deny the possiblity of god or gods, and believe that there is no god. They are concrete in their beliefs.
Agnosticism asserts no knowledge of gods and therefore concludes there are no reasons to believe in them or not to believe in them. An agnostic follows this credo and differs from the atheist who has developed an active belief that there are no gods. When it comes to the question of existence of deities, an agnostic will respond: I just don't know.

Atheist: There is no god, or, I don't believe in any gods.
Agnostic: The knowledge of the existence or nonexistence of a deific being is unknownable or unattainable. Therefore, the question cannot be answered and is meaningless to ask. You might as well ask me if 'blue' 'smells' like 'A-sharp'

An atheist believes that there is no god, no way, no how, forget it!
An agnostic is on the fence. They don't know whether to believe in god because they don't see any proof. I guess you could say they don't have any faith.
