Hello Brianna,
I am sorry if you have had a bad experience with someone claiming to be a Christian. Christians are not perfect, they are forgiven (Ephesians 4:32; 1 John 1:9). And many claim to be Christians just because they go to Church (2 Peter 2:1). That does not make you a Christian anymore than sleeping in a garage makes you a car. Many people have taken the Bible and misused it to exploit and hurt others. Unfortunately, we are fallen and evil creatures.
Christians are called by Jesus Christ to proclaim the "Good News" or the Gospel to the whole world (Mark 16:15). Christianity is not about a religion. Religion is man's attempt to connect to God. Christ was God's attempt to connect with us (Romans 5:6-8). Christian's are to tell everyone about Christ. The reason some Christian's may seem "pushy" is because we know that without Christ we have no way of having a relationship with God (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Romans 6:23; John 5:24 ) . God is perfect and we are not. The only way for us to be in his presence (namely in Heaven) is to be covered by the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. As Christians, we don't want to see friends and family members suffer eternally apart from God. (Revelation 20:15)
I infer from your post that you are angry and hurting, Jesus says come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). I have included some scriptural references for you that you can look up at www.biblegateway.com.
May God bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you. (Numbers 6: 24-26)

Anyone can call themselves a "Christian", but you will know the real ones by their works. A real Christian would never do such things. For me be being a Christian isn't about religion, it's about my personal relationship with God. Alot of self proclamed "christians" today don't have that relationship or else they wouldn't do the things you speak of. I do not make excuses for the "bad ones" seeing as if they do things like that I do not consider them a true christian. You could say you were the President, but does saying it make it so?
As a Christian I do try to help others as much as I can. I never want to disrespect anyone. That being said, I do share my faith with others. I do not see it as pushing my religion on them. I just tell of the great things God has done for me. I know without a doubt God is real, and I know the joy I have because of Him, and I want that joy for everyone.

All religions claim to be the one true path, it is how they get your money.
The bibles says really neat stuff about loving your enemy and how judgment is the job of God and God only. Somehow, this stuff gets lost on most people. In some cases not all, staring that you have a faith or belief allows you to case judgment on those who don't, or those who have different ideology. It is a defense mechanism I supposed one develop es as they feel as though their fragile faith is under attack.
This in no means justifies it. Nobody can actually vouch for what is the absolute right path in life. Christians cannot even come to an agreement amongst themselves. There have been TWO major division of the Christian Church with the formation of countless sects.
The belief that having let God in their life in someway makes them superior is laughable and goes against the core values of christianity. The Christian God is all about love and peace

i do not imagine they are undesirable human beings as how they act in route of others. in spite of the indisputable fact that, they are an occult, and a cult. Richard i comprehend the version between an occult, and a cult. I have studied both definitions and performance concluded JWs, are certainly an occult for the following reason. JWs, believe there has been revelations from God that has revealed particular secrets and techniques that are in basic terms prevalent by technique of the better echelons of their faith. this will be an interplay of evil because the Bible says "All Scripture is electrified by technique of God and rewarding for education, for reproof, for correction, for preparation in righteousness ; that the guy of God might want to be adequate, equipped for each good artwork.". Any faith that works outdoors the comprehend God, are in contact with evil, deceiving, spirits, something warned about in God's be conscious. 2John 9,10. 2Timothy 4:3,4.

You're confusing the religion with people who are trying to follow it. I'm not saying they're not "true Christians," I think if you believe Christ is your savior and redeemer, you're a Christian (no matter how you behave).
What I'm saying is, people aren't perfect, never have been, never will be, and you will always be disappointed if you judge any piece of knowledge, or belief system on those that are trying to follow it.

Please look up the principles of Christianity and you will find two things;
1. These principles do not promote hate, ignorance, nor being callous. Please see Matthew 5;5. Matthew 7:22 John 17:3 and James 2:14-17.
2. Not all claiming to be Christians are Matthew 7:13,14, 21-24

I love questions that lump millions of diverse people into one simple stereotype. Very nice...
I hate to break it to ya, but there have been just as many christians beaten to death or burned to death by nonchristians as vice versa... Can I apply the same stereotype to non-christians? Of course I can, because we are all human and all subject to making mistakes, no matter what our professed beliefs are.

TRUE Christians are not the way you described them. Jesus showed at John 13:35 that love would be an identifying mark of true Christianity. He even instructed his followers to love their enemies. People who do cruel, mean-spirited things in the name of Christ are not true followers of his.

Most people aren't perfect and try to do what they "think" is right, even if it is not right. Jesus said, (paraphrased) 'if people don't want to listen, dust the sand of your shoes and move on.' He wasn't trying to "force" anyone to do anything. It goes against the concept of free-will. People who call themselves "Christian" and are cruel, forceful and inhumane aren't following Christ at all. Please don't confuse those people as representing Christianity.

Self-righteousness and hypocrisy are not Christian characteristics. They are human nature in general.
If anyone wants an example. They should read their own words.
Can one confront self-righteousness, without sounding
self-righteous onesself?
NO. But we can choose our words more carfefully.
