Um, Islam and Christianity have never been the same religion. Ever. Islam was created by Muhamed after Christianity became a main religion.

Muslims and christians have always been split down the middle simply because the two religions clearly contradict one another.Okay, which one is true and infallible?Look at the time lines in each book.Never take the scripture out of context.Look at the physical evidence that has been unearthed over the years by archeologists.King Solomon was real, very real indeed.
The bible explains everything in great detail, but from my studies,I have seen many holes in the Koranic texts. It's as though something is missing.Christianity over the years have shown to have solid foundation to stand on more than any other religion. You can use the scriptures in the Holy Bible to guide your everyday lives. The Koran cannot do that.
Muslims worship as pagans. That in itself destroys it's credibility.I'm not trying to tear down the way muslims believe,or be ugly, but stop and think for a moment just how many years muslims have been combative. They have been combative a lot longer than christians.
Their religion allows them to be vicious, rule by the sword, they have no respect whatsoever to women. In all honesty, their religion is a clear reflection of what not to do.Go over to Saudi Arabia and claim to be a christian, and they will kill you for it.We as christians should not hate Muslims, but hate the sin and deception that has drug them down over the centuries.
So far the Holy Bible has stood the test of time.It will never go away. The true word of God is here from now on.The Holy Bible predicts prophecy that is being fulfilled everyday.
Just some people refuse to aknowledge the elephant in the living room.Knocking everything down and tearing the house apart, but still refuse to say it's there.Jesus Christ is the only way.

Islam and Christianity have never been attached. Islam, from it's very inception was and is still and always will be, Anti-Christian.

Islam however would have you believe that it is an extension or revision to Christianity and that Christians are really Muslims gone wrong. Islam came along 500 or so years after Christianity and similarities based (in many minor respects) on Judaism and Christianity. However in every single foundational respect, Islam seeks to deny Christ and the Salvation that can only be obtained through Him.

Joh 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

It was never together.

In 200 BC The roman moon Goddess Cybill was one of the 350 Gods on the Cabbah. The moon Goddess Cybill was married to the son God Baal and had three daughters.

When Muhammad came on the scene with his form of religion, all but 5 Idols were removed shortly after Muhammad's demise , Only the moon Goddess remained. In Arabic, She was called Allah.

This information can be found on the Internet with pictures of the Idol of Allah.

To my understanding, Islam and Christianity we never unified. Islam came from Muhammad, who became enlighted by God, and was told of the past.

Theologically, the divide at Abraham. Judaism follows the linage of the youngest son, Isaac, son of Abrahma and Sarah, his wife. Islam follows the linage of Ishmael, the oldest son, son of Abraham and one of his servants.

much of the old testament speaks of a common God which is similar to what both religions believe upon. I might make a wild guess here by saying that the religions actually split in their view after the new testament came into existence. please check relevant sources for a good answer though.

It was sometime in 600 AD, so about 1400 years ago, that Muhammad broke away from traditional religion and started Islam.
I think he was Jewish though, not christian.

Once again, the answer is NEVER! The God of Abraham for the Christian is not the god of abraham for the Muslims.
