Just talking to someone else, and told him how once in school a girl told me; "Pokemon is satanic, because if you turn the P into a D and put it behind the K it says OK Demon!"
(Which technically makes Christmas satanic, cause Santa Clause is an anagram for SATAN Clause)
I grew up in a very conservative Protestant Christian community, and people believed all kinds of weird things like this, like that wearing black lipstick or nail varnish meant you're a devil worshipper.
Who else has experianced people like this and what is the weirdest thing you have heard them believe?

yes this older woman I worked with used to say a prayer when I would dance in my cubical(something I do to break the monotony of my job), she told me that was satan tring to take over my soul she also reported everyone because our radios were broadcasting satan's message . . I don't know what her deal is with us wearing dresses with out hosery but we should be ashamed of ourselves . . . I try to keep my distance from her she's a freak (not a good freak either)

I literally have a coworker who believes:
1. Harry Potter is satanic, and will possess his kids
2. Hollywood is satanic, so his family's not allowed to watch movies.... period.
3. Dinosaurs never existed. It's all a lie.
4. There is no such thing as evolution, etc.
5. God destroyed New Orleans because there was going to be a gay pride parade there.
This guy is also a major pothead, beats his wife and kids, has been to prison for dealing crack coccaine, and has the police at his house about once a month.

My aunt doesn't believe in dying your hair because "if god wanted your hair that color, he would have made it that way." That's right folks you heard it here first! Disregard genetics, god makes us individually and decides hair color and everything. He just has a list of combinations and sits around all day making different specimen. I want that job!
Lets just go one step further though, lets throw all concepts of responsibility out the window and look at it this way.... Anything good that happens is an act of God, not good will. Anything bad that happens is an act of Satan, not a choice made by an individual. Let everyone out of jail please, they were just acting under Satan's influence so I'm sure they won't do anything wrong again. (sorry to rant, but this is the kind of scenario's I saw with my experiences)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sabrina the teenage Witch, Charmed, the 4400 , all the shows about aliens and extra terrestial beings. All these genres undermine the truth of the bible and actual reality. so do not dismiss them as harmless. i am sure if you ask the creators of these programs they would tell you that there was no such intent but it is true. Casper the friendly ghost, Gost ( the movie ) i mean just everything perpetuates falsehoods about life after death and what happens to us when we die. BBC1 ( england today ) 5p.m. Young Dracula. Yep, sounds like my childhood. LOL I saw a few evangelists come through my dad's church who had a problem with rock music and used every picture and symbol on album covers to support their claims. Then, the fools would have friggen bonfires where many tapes and records were burned in the name of stamping out satanic crap. LOL I always thought that was so stupid. I'm so glad to be an atheist.

Hon, I know one of those people. Everything is evil. Harry Potter (which I find entertaining), Yoga, Martial Arts, that Buddha in the backseat of someone's car, wearing black nailpolish....etc. I'm Catholic and this person has come up to me and told me that my sister was headed for hell (she lived with her boyfriend) and the I was kneeling on the wrong knee (I have bad knees and will be arthritic before I'm 30). People like that need help. She's also a born-again Catholic who believes her own father will burn in hell.

Someone once asked the question about wether or not they should allow their wife to be a hair dresser and the spiritual leader said that hairdressing is a satanic profession and all her earnings would be sinfull. "It is the husbands duty to control the wife "

all the time. I get told believing in ghost is satanic. why does the unknow have to be satanic, its just crazy i just have to ignore the things people say. religion is supposed to be beautiful not ugly
