Maybe if given the option to be free of us infidels with our pesky freedom of speech, television, and girls who wear shorts, Muslims would be happier anyway. Plus, their women could happily sport their burkas and hijab with no harrassment. Cancel about 45 oil barges coming in delivering crude from the middle east, and revamp it to make it a semi-luxury liner for all Muslims who want to catch a one way ticket out of our heathen hell hole, and into the lush, welcoming arms of any of several middle eastern Muslim nations. I wonder if they would still be on Y!A after that? You know, speaking the "truth" about "real" Islam and all. I think not. They'd be living it.

Have you experienced something that's made you believe in god, if so what? In this day and age does it take a miracle for us to believe? Do we maybe use god as an excuse for the way things in our life turn out and does this encourage our beliefs?

A 12 year old cousin of ours got a brain tumour and after several operations they opened him up to try a drug that was only availiable in America, when they did there was only scaring there, the tumour had gone and people in the family were hailing it a miracle, unfortunately though at his next checkup they found 2 other tumours and he died last month.

If God knows everything, that means God knows what you are going to do. If God already KNOWS what you're going to do, then your "decision" to do it is, essentially, destiny. So how is there free will?

In a quasi-related question, what about brain chemicals? If the way your brain works is basically chemical and electrical reactions, isn't "free will" controlled by science?

i believe that magic is like science.the only way to know it works is to try.by practicing diffrent "ideas" you come up with you trial and error to get a breakthrough.just imagine all you nonbelievers something for me.imagine i walked up to you in the street and said i bet you 10,000 dollars that if i write ya name on a a red jellybean you will fall in love with me.you would think im crazy.you wouldnt say im evil or im doing magic would u.now imagine it worked and you fell so hard in love.you probaly would say i did something evil to you.the point is damn near everything you do in life is magical.people are only afraid of magic cause of movies and stuff but if they knew trhe positive they would calm down.magic is cience.mc'donalds uses magic on people every second of the day.
ex.
the intent:get customers
the sigil:that big red or yellow m
the mantra: "have it your way"
if thats not magic what the hell is.funny thing is its science too.they tried diffrent waysuntil you boughtit

Why you act like zombies? "I want to save your soul and all" like i want your brains!
Don't you ever sit down and do an introspection about what you really want in life or understanding life?

Picture the scene. A harlot is sitting on the back of a fearsome beast. The beast has seven heads and ten horns. Rev 17:1-4 Whom does the harlot represent? She exerts influence “over the kings of the earth.”
She dresses in purple, uses incense, and is exceedingly wealthy. In addition, by means of her spiritistic practice, “all the nations are misled.” Rev. 17:18; 18:12,13,23
The bible helps us to see that this harlot is a world wide religious entity. She depicts, not any one religion, but all religions that produce rotten fruit.

The beast that the harlot rides pictures the world’s political powers. Rev 17:10-13
False religion straddles the back of this political beast, attempting to influence its decisions and to control its direction.
How do you think that religion will end? and do you think it will end?

I married and my marriage was rocky, we were converted and it became a little more rocky. I've felt that as believers now, a lot of effort has not been made to help because of the whole "divorce is not an option" tactic. I know adultery and death are bibical but doesn't that only apply to believers when they marry? I wasn't a believer when I married. I'm wondering how God views it since I was married before I was a believer. I really had no idea what marriage meant and if I had I would have waited. What do you all think?

So theists believe in a god because they believe the Universe needed a creator... i.e. that it couldn't just have always been there or poofled in out of nothingness...
... So who created god? Or was he always there / poofled in out of nothingness? ...
And for that matter, once you've justified god's appearance in existence, how about justifying why the same couldn't be true of the Universe itself in the first place... hence negating the need for a middle man.

^_^ ... Just one of the many amusing contradictions of theistic (simplistic) belief.

Yes... I know. Some people just can't handle thinking about questions like this, will spout off what they've been told by the guy with the white collar, and promptly escape the scene clutching defensively to their ignorance...... and THAT is what makes asking it all worthwhile! =D

everything else we can see,perceive..
In Bhagavad Gita, it says: "A sword can not cut itself". Meaning what you can watch, can not be you.
What we can watch are: body, mind, thoughts and everything else

Do you think this is true? Do we really have a inner self other from body and mind? Or are we just like sophisticated robots perceiving themselves? (robots of merely flesh and blood)

I think it shows how many people are really sick of the over-emphasis on religion and religionists presently, clearly there are plenty of skeptics alive and well... in Britain anyway.
