"Adam Gadahn serves as the voice of al-Qaida to the West and he has issued a call to worldwide jihad and advocated the slaying of American civilians," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Deirdre Eliot, the Santa Ana-based prosecutor in the case. "When an American citizen appears in propaganda videos with al-Qaida's second in command, there are serious consequences." http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/news/homepage/article_1310287.php

Sure he was an Al Qaeda higher-up, but Im very worried about what muslims think of us, and after all, everything we do that could upset them shouldf be reconsidered because we dont want to upset their fine sensiblities.

So, based on the mainstream presses popular theory that making them less upset is the best course, shouldnt we just let this fatman go and maybe even give him a care package for his trouble? Muslims would appreciate that after all...I know leftists are with me...but have I one over any pragmtists?

Not all groups should be pigeon-holed, or stereo-typed.

Atheists: debaters (open-minded), fundies (closed minded debaters), oppresive (hate and outlaw the believers), baiters and riff-raff that are in this site to screw it up

Believers: debaters (open-minded), fundies (close minded debaters), oppressive (convert the non-believers), baiters (some may be non-believers)

Seekers who have not made up their mind, or are on the fence, or who are in one of the above groups, and asking good questions.

14 year olds, 30 year olds, 60 year olds, etc.

People of wisdom, learners and immature people

Just a comment to be more open to people's views and beliefs. There appears to be a lot of intolerance on this site.

I am Wiccan. I don't have a problem with other religions, to each there own!

Why do so many people feel they need to tell me I worship the devil, I don't even believe in the devil so how can I whorship it?

I don't tell people about my religion unless they ask, I don't have nothing to hide. But I don't offer ANY info on myself unless someone ask!

just to let you know I am 26, married with an 8 month old son. My home is shabby chic, no skulls, no black. i wear mostly pink. OK.

I just don't understand why so many people are hateful towards another because of there religion, pagan, catholic, christain. (ok I'll be honest some mormans get to me. but not all of them) I give everyone a chance. reliagion is part of who we are NOT who we are!

I consider myself one of Jehovah's witnesses..as I worship the god of the "burning bush", the creator of all, and the heavenly Father of Jesus Christ ! This may surprise some who are convinced they are the "true believers". It does'nt bother me, I can live without the Watchtower doing my thinking for me. I have a NWT. I read at Isiah 9:6...."his name will be called....Mighty God, Eternal Father....." Also John 20: 28, "....Thomas said to him: My Lord and my God". See also Isiah 43: 10......"Before me there was no God formed......and after me there continued to be none". That is Jesus being refered to!
That is 3 scriptures from the NWT, "out of the mouths of 3 witnesses". My question is this.....are the JW's more interested in promoting one of God's names or really finding the "TRUTH", which they say they are in? "Awake"? Or wake up?

I suppose the question might answer itself...ignorance....but are there other theories? I mean, is it possible that a leftist who actually studied Islam in depth and knows it is the furtherest right any movement can go, would neverthless stillllll defend it?

Lets here some theories...

David Kuo is the former high ranking official in Bush's Faith Based Initiatives Congressional Office. He has quit and wrote a tell all book, with the following revalations:

"He says some of the nation’s most prominent evangelical leaders were known in the office of presidential political strategist Karl Rove as “the nuts”.

“National Christian leaders received hugs and smiles in person and then were dismissed behind their backs and described as ‘ridiculous,’ ‘out of control,’ and just plain ‘goofy’,” Kuo writes."

More seriously, Kuo alleges that then-White House political affairs director Ken Mehlman knowingly participated in a scheme to use the office, and taxpayer funds, to mount ostensibly “nonpartisan” events that were, in reality, designed with the intent of mobilizing religious voters in 20 targeted races.

Nineteen out of the 20 targeted races were won by Republicans, Kuo reports.

I have made a wee-little book from the same materials (The Gospels) which I call The Philosophy of Jesus. It is a paradigm of his doctrines, made by cutting the texts out of the book and arranging them on the pages of a blank book, in a certain order of time or subject. A more beautiful or more precious morsel of ethics I have never seen. It is a document in truth that I am a REAL CHRISTIAN, that is to say a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus, very different than the Platonists, who call ME infidel and THEMSELVES Christians and preachers of the Gospel, while they draw all their characteristic dogmas from what its author never said nor saw. They have compounded from the heathen mysteries a system beyond the comprehensionof man, of which the greater reformer of the vicious ethics and deism of the Jews, were here to return on earth, would not recognize one feature.

I am just curious how you can justify spending all the money you have spent on your computer, high speed internet and other worldly unnecessary posessions when your church badly needs that money to pay off families of children abused by priests. How could you abandon your church in their time of need in the name of worldly comforts?

Why don't you take Jesus literally when he so clear?

Jn. 6:27 "Do not work for the food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you."

Jn. 6:51 "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."

Also, many of His disciples left Him when He told them that they must eat His flesh and drink His blood. They obviously understood Him literally. Why didn't he say, "Wait! I only meant that symbolicallly! I didn't mean that you REALLY have to eat my flesh and drink my blood!"

And don't say "It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail." Nowhere in the Bible is "spirit" used to mean symbolic. You can't say that was when he was clearing it all up. His disciples left AFTER He "supposedly" cleared it all up.

Jn. 6:55 "For my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink."
So, what do you believe?

I have no political identity. I dislike chosing from two bags of dung, but clearly I must hold my nose and vote for the right because leftists are not pragmatic.

Their nieve views of the world make me wonder if they really do believe in evolution or just pay lip service to it based on their own hatred for self and inability to cope with reality.

The kicker is, I dont know how things will change. I mean, almost all armed conflict today is rooted in Islamist idealogy. Whether its self righteous muslims at war in Chechnia or Kashmir or Philipines or Dafur or Thailand or Uzbekistand...its doesnt matter how much terror or war Islamists particpate in, pathetic leftists apologize and point the finger at their hated nemsis...the "right-wing Christian".

I do however recognize that a few leftistsloathe Islam...but they are only the leftists who have studied it and as a matter of experience, I havent met many leftists who research anything. Keep defending ultra-right islam you morons!

Why do Atheist/other groups want Christians to stop telling people there is a God?

What have Christians done in this American society that is positive?

Is it a fair assessment that Christians of ole who did murder in God’s name, mean that every Christian is a murderer?

Are people tolerant towards Christians or should Christians just be tolerant to everyone.
