I don't understand how this statement "What is an atheists point of view of christians?? " is related to this one: "im just wondering cause christians have been given a shitty name for crap that some ppl have done", are you implying that christians have a "shitty name" and that is somehow the fault of atheists?

Because most theists (including Christians, of course) are sanctimonious ignorant hypocrites.
They claim to "know" the truth when religion is based on faith, a belief not science.
Some believe the old testament, some don't.
They pick and choose what they are going to believe in the bible and then not live their lives following their belief.(that would be where the hypocrite comes in)
Watching a woman give the finger to another driver when she was leaving church on Sunday! How absolutely wrong is that?
And these shallow deceitful books of blood think for one minute that they can fool their omniscient omnipotent invisible being?
Atheism, I believe, comes about from observing our environment.
Theist say one thing and do another.
Theist don't want to believe in science and they refute basic laws of science.
Priests of the catholic church who take a life long pledge of celibacy, raping young boys.
This is a priest!
Obviously, these people are a joke who don't believe their own bullshit, for if they did, would they do these things?
Are they trying to indicate, "God" told them it was OK to do this?
Quite frankly, I have no use for those people.
They are a waste of space.
Personally, I'm an atheist.

this is just me, but i think that christianity can't be true. cause there are about a bagillion different variations of it, and they cant all be right. and the reason there are so many different types is because people like christianity in general, but they wanted to tweak it a little bit cause their unhappy with something. and how can people still believe in it if there are all these corrupt, child-molesting men of the cloth who are supposed to do no wrong. and if you wanna go back even farther, the origional religions, like the egyptions and the greeks. all their gods were used as teaching tools to explain ordinary everyday occurances, like the sun rising. but since we now know how the sun rises, wouldnt the entire idea of religion become meaningless?

My dad's a Methodist minister. Having grown up in the church, I know that there are all kinds of Christians, just as there are all kinds of atheists.
However, the ones that are heard the most these days are the conservative, demonizing, demagoguing liars that feel justified in pressing their viewpoint on the rest of the world, no matter whom it harms. Christians who want to mandate that the rest of the world behave in a way that fits their moral standards exercise the greatest arrogance, and I have and will continue to press back against those efforts with as much verbal pressure as I can muster.

It's like Gandhi said, the moral code is cool enough but the practitioners are something else. Atheists can tolerate people who follow the actual teachings of Christ presented in the Christian testament as well-meaning, if deluded, do-gooders. But it's the Bible-thumping whackos that get the press and they are regarded as obnoxious, arrogant and dangerous fools.

I'm atheist and I feel that people that believe in a god are confused. They think that they are believing in what is right but are doing nothing but wasting their time. Also I hate it when people come up to me and try to change my thinking. The existence of a god would go against everything science has taught us.

I have many friends and relatives who are Christians. IMHO, they have bought a lie, but why should I hold that against them? As long as they maintain respect to me as a person, I'm happy to reciprocate.
Love the deluded, hate the delusion.
