do, do they just abstain all the time and have children once in a while?

as an unschooler, we meet a lot of christian homeschoolers and their families are getting big!!! fortunately, most of these moms do provide human milk for their babies - which is the birthright of every baby - and this tends to help them space their children by suppressing fertility.

They don't abstain, they accept the children as god's will.

I did have a catholic friend whose father did tell me one should abstain except when trying for a child.

Luther got it backwards. Faith is not only evil, it is the ultimate evil. But that is not on point: few Christians (even Catholics) are foolish enough to consider contraception as sinful. Sex is too strong a uniting force to be denigrated to just procreation. How long will it take the Catholic Church to wake up and smell the coffee? They might get it right sometime in the next four hundred years -- they finally admitted that Galileo was right, after all.

Its not just the protestants..In the christian bible it is a sin to use birth control..I know im going to get a thumbs down from all the christians here who disagree..But it is in their Bible..But I dont think anyone really follows this..They all sin..They just like to judge other people sins...
