the easiest place to hide things is in plain sight. one Christmas purchased a step stool for my wife. hid it in the basement but put books on top of it. she cleaned the basement including mopping the floor and moved it. then after unwrapping it for a gift wanted to know where I had hidden it. when I told her and She realized what I said --- well her expression was priceless.

Maybe God hid them so we don't get caught in that 10 car pile up on the way there.

Simple!! It's called "item" blindness. For example, I have refrigerator blindness. I go to the fridge to look for the catsup, but as hard as I look, it's not there. I call my wife to look for it... she walks over, looks inside, reaches in and hands me the catsup bottle. She has ear ring blindness. I reciprocate in kind!
