Certain Pagan paths outright refuse to discuss their personal beliefs. But I don't think it's because they don't want to influence others... more that they don't want others to look down on them and try to influence them.
Silence is, sometimes, better than speaking out when it comes to Personal Beliefs.

although you know i am quite open with what i believe and why
many times i have been tempted to show other aspects of my beliefs ... especially the writings of spirit
but usually delete it , as it would do no good for me to put words down that others may find opposing their own ... but more so because i respect the teachings so much that i would not leave them open to ridicule by closed minded people
xx
i dont mind leaving myself open however .. i can take that lol :o)

If a religion banned the discussion of its own relgion, it wouldn't be able to spread and actually become a religion. It would remain a belief in that person's head. So...no, not really.

The general rule says, being open with your ideas means that you are strong and confident.
Whomever opens himself to open discussions means he is confident of his beliefs, the other side who fears or hates discussions means weakness of confident and unsure of hid beliefs.
The most open and confident people to discuss in their religion are muslims, we are the guys who are ready to open or answer any kind of issues in life and religion.

Well, druids, refuse to pass on their religion in any way other than orally. Thats the best I could think of, at any rate.

From my experience, Mormons never talk about what they actually *believe*... I mean, their temple's all secret and all that. But the beliefs that they do actually reveal are pretty wacky.

I usually keep my beliefs to myself ,unless prodded to defend myself.
I don`t tell anyone they should believe as I do .
Nor do i want to be indoctrinated or harrassed to listen to their beliefs.

Shakers? Of course there aren't many of them left.
How about Daoists? ("The way that can be spoken of is not the true way.")

You could invent one. But then, how would we hear about it?
Incidently, If you and I were skydiving and I saw you packing your parachute wrong, I'd probably mention it. Would you do the same for me?
