after all i make my own choices, i am my own mind, a persons mind is something left untaped, something which we all know little about...therefore we make our own decisions of what becomes of oureslfs, in life and death. if one belives in heven and hell then they will end up there, but if one would believe in their own self then can they not have the final say in their own afterlife?

As far as I know, in Christianity, they take a baby to a church, spray it with water and murmur some incantations over it, and voila, this baby is Christian (Christians, please don't kick me for any inaccuracies, I just took it as an example, I have a very general notion of your rituals).
Is there some kind of ritual that makes somebody a Buddhist?

I mean when once I hapened to go to Iran, I asked for Quran at some local shop...
They gave me a book which I could not understand a bit..
but "Al- Quran" was written on its cover...
When I inquired "what type of this Quran is?"
He first asked me where r u from?
I told " I am from Pakistan"
He at once snatched the book from my hands & gave me another same color/cover book named "Al-Quran".
when I opened the new book. I found that I could read that book..
I could understand what was written in it..
I mean I could read the Arabic..

But I wonder what language was written in the other book..
It was not Arabic at all
But the Cover said it was Quran...
& I know that Quran is only in one language ....
In Arabic...
& others are its translations in what ever languages....

SO Can Any one tell me Which type of Quran is used in Iran????
or by Shiette Muslims????

I am Sunni muslim & I read Arabic Quran...
What Quran do they use??
Why was that Quran not in Arabic??

How come he would let so many be deceived, and taught the wrong religion...without showing himself to them...to prove the right religion....Man has changed the Books writtings.. maybe the Quran hasn't been changed for 1600 years....if could be wrong in the first place...someone let a man that was couldn't read or write deliver the Quran....who's going to hurt him...of corse he couldn't have done it alone....we must believe....and the Jews not believe in Jesus...Did they or did they not personally know God...why does some do ...some don't....I guess I am asking...should we be punished for following the wrong religion...if we don't know the truth?

My question is trying to encourage christians to simply believe in their faith and not to mix with science . I simply want Christians to explore what Scientist call the sixth sense i call the holy spirit , to use it as guidance to our daily lifes and choice .Here is a Scientific interpretation of jesus in the desert
Since jesus had spent 40 days and 40 nights in the desert without eating food or drinking water he must have been dehydrated and suffering from lack of Glucose in his Brain . The Brain needs Glucose to function properly and in starvation Lactic acid accumulates and because there is no water to flash it away all sorts of problems starts to click in , ie urinary track infections etc that all result in hallucinations , mental confusions , seeing things that are not real and even creating stories . Science can proof that with no problems even to you .Now where does science stop this i know it all attitude ? What are the unexplored strenghts of the holy spirit that cuts science

Do you believe that if all Christians just vanished, that almost all Atheists would not convert to Christianity.

I just finished watching A Thief In The Night, A Distant Thunder, Image Of The Beast, and the first Left Behind Movie.

How could someone possibly think that we Atheists would be that stupid to not believe in a God if all of the Christians just vanished? Not only that, but it was only Christians that vanished. I see a flaw in all the movies I listed above, there would be no one that would accept the mark of the beast, nor would anyone promote a unified Goverment.. Most of us would see that as proof enough for your Bible to be accurate...

How many of you believe that Atheists, Agnostics, and non believers in general would just be give an excuse like "Oh it must have been UFOs"?

Btw.. Most of the movies had some sort of entertainment value, but the left behind movie was horrible.. absolutely horrible.. I am not sure about the books, but the movie sucked

A burqa (also burka or burqua) is an all-enveloping tent-like outer garment worn by some Muslim women in the Middle East. It is worn over the usual daily clothing (often a long dress or a salwar kameez) and removed when the woman returns to the sanctuary of the household

Im a Christian, but im interested to know what the koran actually says, rather than hearing all sorts of things about it- ( some probably true and some probably false )

This is more for research than for religion - I know the God I love.

This is an extract from Dr. Gronier, a French MP, who embraced Islam. Revealing the reason of embracing Islam he said, I read all of the Ayat (Quranic verses), which have a relation to medical, health, and natural sciences that I studied before and have a wide knowledge of. I found that these verses are totally compatible with and give a picture of our modern sciences. Thus, I embraced Islam as it was obvious that Muhammad revealed the Absolute Truth more than a thousand years ago. Had every specialist, artist or scientist compared those Quranic verses to his own specialization, beyond the shadow of doubt he would embrace Islam, especially if he has a sound mentality and goodwill to search for the truth and not a mentally defective person with the intentions of malevolent aims.

God must be some sick, sadistic individual to make a wildly uncontrolled species like humans, put us on this unpredictable rock, and let us go on and on for thousands of years arguing over his existance. Heck, a good 1/3 of his creations don't even believe in him. All the while we get to do the most depraved, insane things. We've got free will to torture & rape each other all day & night... murder one another by the millions... oppression... innocents dying everyday in pain & misery... diseases a horror writer couldn't dream up, starvation, plagues... what an awesome display of intelligence, compassion & power!

If I had a computer that screwed up as much and as often as this world does, I'd have hit "reset" millenia ago. I guess god just gets off on seeing how much misery his invention called "free will" can create, and how long it will last. What a freaking genius he must be!

Or MAYBE there is no god, and it's all just random chance and our lot is our own doing?

My friend was killed in a tragic accident in October 18 years ago. Since then, I won't even be thinking of him and close to the time he died he seems to be in my head all of the time. Is this odd or is it just something in my sub-conscious?
