God must be some sick, sadistic individual to make a wildly uncontrolled species like humans, put us on this unpredictable rock, and let us go on and on for thousands of years arguing over his existance. Heck, a good 1/3 of his creations don't even believe in him. All the while we get to do the most depraved, insane things. We've got free will to torture & rape each other all day & night... murder one another by the millions... oppression... innocents dying everyday in pain & misery... diseases a horror writer couldn't dream up, starvation, plagues... what an awesome display of intelligence, compassion & power!
If I had a computer that screwed up as much and as often as this world does, I'd have hit "reset" millenia ago. I guess god just gets off on seeing how much misery his invention called "free will" can create, and how long it will last. What a freaking genius he must be!
Or MAYBE there is no god, and it's all just random chance and our lot is our own doing?

I enjoyed reading your Question it was entertaining i agree with you but i do not believe in such a god to push the reset button. But hyperthetically if there was say he did push it then what? its pushed but how does it start again clarify what you mean wipe out the entire human race?well if not?We are still the same race as what we were before it was pushed so there for it will just go back to being the same as it is now the only way the problem can be solved is by having peace in this world and for a majoirty of humuans to not be filled with lust, lies, greed and the urge for power and the ridiculous arguments on relgion and people judging one another but that is a very hard thing to come by these days and i think technology is making it all much much worse and politics and govt of course.I do not believe in such relgions i believe in the spirtual way it makes much more sense to me and if i had the opportunity i think i would become a buddist in a heart beat...Have a good day!

well stated you explain facts in evidence, you clearly see man for what he is and make the logical assumption that hitting reset is a valid alternative. If I told you where the button was how long would it be b4 you pushed it???
There are some things that are unknown which might answer your question. There are some about time, and about space, and then there is the whole is this the dream thing, and the is the soul in the body during that last pain just b4 death, then there is the whole idea that this is just a proving ground or school to teach how to live correctly (we are failing I know might have to repeat you want to be in another class)
You ask valid questions so you must be able to admit that there might be parts of this puzzle you do not understand or know about yet. Right???

What is so sad is that you see no value in this life and this beautiful creation.
There is a story in the bible where a man planted a crop of wheat and in the night some bad men scattered weed seeds everywhere. So the workers asked if they should just destroy the crop. The owner said no, to let the weeds grow up next to the wheat until they are fully grown and it is clear what is weeds and what is wheat, then he harvested the wheat and burned the weeds. That is why God lets the corrupt hang around a while, as not to damage the good seed. Everyone has their choice in this life.
To hit the reset button would destroy all the good too....and He is not ready to do that yet.
And there is ALOT of good....I pray that you're heart will be healed from this anger and that your eyes will be opened to see what a wonderful life you live....regardless of the weeds.

The problem isn't God--the problem is that too many people have reject God. This world is screwed up because of us choosing to go our own way. He gave us the choice to choose Him or not choose Him, but He would prefer that we would choose to follow Him and to love Him. Someday He WILL get rid of everyone and everything that has made this world and this life such a mess, but He continues to give us opportunities to seek Him because of His patience with us. The problem is that we keep wasting the opportunities that He gives us.
I understand your frustration. I'm not a happy camper about the madness and stupidity that we continue to bring upon ourselves, but I've also seen firsthand how God can give us the most unimaginable peace in the middle of all of this. Check out the first link below for a little about my life. Maybe you can relate to some of the stuff I've been through. Feel free to drop me a line at chad@jesusfreak.com if you'd like. Take care.

Or maybe you are supremely good at seeing the glass half empty!
Come on! There is a lot of beauty and love out there too!
What about sacrifice and forgiveness?
Ever heard of those?
Honor?
Peace?
Intelligence?
Hope?
Loyalty?
Kindness?
Joy?
There are just as many good reasons to watch the human race grow as there are bad ones, probably more!
I think if that "screwed up" computer were fascinatingly beautiful you might lay off the reset button!

God created us with free will because without free will we would be robots, nothing more than programmed computers. He wanted a creature that could love. Without free will there is no such thing as love. But free will means that you have the freedom to love and also the freedom to hate and to kill. God created Adam and Eve perfect. He didn't create evil but he created them with the potential for evil. But that potential only became actualized if they disobeyed God, which they did. When they freely chose to sin, an evil rebellious nature became actualized inside of them and it was passed on to every human being from that point on through the man. That's why Jesus had to be born of a virgin. Had He been born with a normal father He too would have been born with that evil nature. Christ died for our sins. When you accept Christ as your personal savior, you're given a new nature. That's when the struggle begins because you now have 2 natures... a good one and an evil one. You must chose between the two on each and every occassion that you are tempted to do wrong. It should be no surprise that the world is so screwed up when mankind has an evil nature and the free will to fulfill his evil desires. But Christ promised He is coming back to earth. He's going to conquer evil and set up His kingdom and I believe that's going to happen soon. He gave signs of His 2nd coming to look for and the signs are all here. That 2nd coming is just around the corner. There's a glorious world coming for those who know Christ as their personal savior.
As for your statement..."Or MAYBE there is no god, and it's all just random chance and our lot is our own doing?"
Anybody who says there is no God is just not thinking straight. In your brain there are 100 billion neurons. Each one of those neurons(remember, there's 100 billion of them) is connected to 1000 other neurons. That comes out to 100 trillion connections in your brain. These connections send electronic signals(and you can measure the electricity) from one place to another. If part of the brain is damaged and you lose some function that is controlled by that part of the brain, the brain can actually re-wire itself and let other neurons in the undamaged part of the brain take over so that you can get back that function. That's only the connections in the brain, not the rest of the body.
Our bodies also have tons of information in the DNA. You have enough information in your DNA to fill encyclopedia sized books stacked from here to the moon and back 500 times. Do you really think that came about by just random chance........kind of like a monkey typing out the works of Shakespear just by randomly plucking away at the keys?
You need to step back and look at the big picture of what is being claimed by evolution, namely, that the unbelieveable complexity of the human brain(not to mention the rest of the body) is nothing more than re-arranged pond scum. It’s pond scum from the original prebiotic soup re-arranged over billions of years into 100 trillion connections in the brain by luck…..just random chance. YEAH RIGHT. If you believe that I've got some swampland I'd like to sell you ON PLUTO.

I think we are God's experiment in giving free will to a sentient species. We are His entertainment since the outcome is not truly predictable. Humanity is too funny to be a tragedy and too tragic to be a comedy, but we are seldom dull.

well why blame God or anyone for one's action -- what we see is what man wanted -- Freewill. all what you see is due to the actions of FEW people. time will pass. tough times dont last long but tough people do.
for me there is always light at the end of the tunnel. unto you your faith and unto me mine. peace.
