Definitely yes. In psychology it is classified as a form of hypnotism or autosuggestion. Pretty powerful in its effect, if you believe in it. Some tribes in Australia have shown aborigines die when hexed by a witch doctor pointing a bone at them. The power of the mind, to autosuggestion is not totally understood, and can produce scary results at times with the "believers". The less you believe in all the "occult arts" the safer you are from its effect on you.

I believe in it. Been involved for 13 years.
How old is your friend? What she's done violates the one law of Witchcraft :"an it harm none, do what thou will"
Manipulating that young man like that is HARM.
If she's young and dumb, she wont get karma too bad this time. Warn her that if she keeps it up, the Goddess will come down on her like a ton o bricks.

There is a reason we dont allow children under 16 to enter the circles. No maturity or good judgement.

there are witchs & warlocks and they do have powers some at least it . is very previlent where i come from. lots of them in the area. one time a friends family messed with them at there fireside lake side circle thing they do,they were trespassing. and well i wont go all into it but it ruined the whole familys lifes. i was at a friends home and a witch moved in with him, another friend run her off by writeing some words on a paper with th e pentagram on it, yes they can have powers from the prince of the power of the air. it is best to stay away.honest. to god. it really is best, nothing good will ever come of it.

il say if u really good person.. u aint onna need no witch craft or wizardry to catch a good soulmate...

i would believe in witchcraft.. but wats the fun in it if u already know that who the someone is who's gonna fall for u...
love needs to be spontaneous not plannedout...

besides if u want someone u like .. jus be ur self and let the person know that u like that person and wanna be wit him...

Yes I do believe in them. And there are natural laws that go with them .
If your friend really did what she told you. Then she has committed a crime by taking away someones freewill . and has placed herself under the law of the three fold return. that which you do unto others will be returned unto you three times over.
Paganism and Wicca and witchcraft are not of the devil or Satan as the christian church says . they are just mad because those people will not convert themselves to Christianity . Which took the trouble to incorporate the rites and rituals of those religions to get then to convert.
They are older religious ways that precede Christianity and Judaism.and can trace there beginnings back to the sun worshipers. the first religion on Earth .

such things do exist.

but hopefully for her sake shes BS'ing you, those sorta things are not good.

another possibility is that shes merely a "pop-witch" and none of what she thinks she did, did anything, and its merely coincidental, most that have the ability to do such things "for real" know better than to actually do it.

Witchcraft isn't neccesarily evil, and neither are spells, but attempting to control people in that way, is a very bad thing.

yes I do infact I have done a few spells myself and seen them work and felt the effects. However, IF your friend IS doing spells of that natur, that is dark magick and the reprocutions for such are harsh so I would stay away from her karma can be a *****

I don't believe in witchcraft... Maybe the guy just wanted to be with her anyway. However, if it really is witchcraft, I guess it would be stupid not to take advantage of it.

BE CAREFULL though. Don't place all your hope on it - if it works good for you, if not, just find another way to make your wish come true.
