I think it is an esoteric view that one day ( when this mythical Jesus figure returns and hold all power) all creatures will become pacifist. It doesn't say how the lion intends to eat, but hey,it's just mythology and only intended to be allegorical.

“The wolf and the lamb themselves will feed as one, and the lion will eat straw just like the bull; and as for the serpent, his food will be dust. They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain,” Jehovah has said." (Isaiah 65:25 - )

"6 And the wolf will actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well-fed animal all together; and a mere little boy will be leader over them. 7  And the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down. And even the lion will eat straw just like the bull. 8  And the sucking child will certainly play upon the hole of the cobra; and upon the light aperture of a poisonous snake will a weaned child actually put his own hand. 9  They will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my holy mountain; because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters are covering the very sea." (Isaiah 11:6-9)

In fact, life on earth will experience a new type of harmony, for God will teach his loyal human subjects how to be good caretakers of their terrestrial home. He will even “conclude a covenant,” as it were, with all predatory beasts, causing them to live in peaceful submission to humans. There will also be peace among literal animals under the rule of Christ Jesus, even as there evidently was in Eden. Therefore, animals will never harm humans in the future.

If you go and study the bible and how the earth was before the flood you will notice that no animal or human ate meat, sounds funny but it is true. Only after the flood God gave permission to eat meat, so yes, the lion will lay with the lamb, they will be friends

It means in heaven and the afterlife with God, there will be no more violence between humans or other animals. No more eating meat, etc. Thus, lions will not kill lambs for food. They will lie together in the meadow and the lion will not kill the lamb. This is what the phrase means. Make sense?

Everlasting unconditional Peace. Nothing "exhaustive" about this. Simple symbolism.

Let's face it, violence is in human nature. Even Jesus himself will fight the Anti-Christ and right after then, final day. Animals may make peace but I don't see this happening with humans.
