ive ran into a few, and it seems that way to me. maybe they were a**kicking biker dudes in their former life, and now theyre going to beat the love of christ into you.
in prison, i noticed that the inmates that found religion in prison were the first to beat you up for not sharing their beliefs.
im not making generalizations, i know not all born agains are like that, but ive noticed that alot of them are.

cant i just be a decent person and live according to all biblical laws EXCEPT accepting jesus as my savior, praying, and worshipping? i think jesus was a genius and one of the greatest philosophers to ever live. but i dont want to bow down and worship who i believe was just a great MAN, not a god. no offense to anyones beliefs, im asking a serious question. and please dont just preach to me or quote john 3:16.

If a man marries, then decides that he hates his wife, he can claim she wasn't a virgin when they were married. If her father can't produce the "tokens of her virginity" (bloody sheets), then the woman is to be stoned to death at her father's doorstep. 22:13-21 If a man rapes an unbetrothed virgin, he must pay her father 50 shekels of silver and then marry her. 22:28 If you see a pretty woman among the captives and would like her for a wife, then just bring her home and "go in unto her." Later, if you decide you don't like her, you can "let her go." 21:11-14

and dont say that they dont. they either tell you you will go to hell for believing differently, or say they will pray for you, or pretend to pity you, or incessently preach to you. if any christians answer this with a preachy answer they will be proving my point.

...why do we have a blindspot in each of our eyes? I'd think God would make us without such flaws.

to say "you are going to hell" is judging and making you act like god. Would that make the person saying that go to hell?

Do most believe the events described will happen literally, just as they are written in the Bible? Is it OK within your faith to believe that Revelations is more of a dramatization of future events rather then hard facts?

I was born Christian, my parent were athiest. I was baptised for my grandmother, she is deeply religious. My aunt taught me and my sister wicca ever since i could speak. After 16 years i strayed and called myself athiest.

Now at age 23 i have a baptised son (grandma again), i feel that i need religion in my life and was searching for something that was right for me. i didnt believe in Christianity, and ive broken nearly all the commandments, wicca is seen as taboo and is not a good religion to tell people you pratice even though i believe in it, i dont really want to.

I found UU very intresting and it seemed to call me, i went to the web site and read about it, and since then it is all i can think about, and ive even called myself UU. The problem is my feance is steadfast athiest and doesnt want me to go to service, what should i do? and just running out and going wont work,

can you practice at home?

Anyone else UU? can you tell me about it?

Thank you

As a muslim I believe that only God (Allah or you may call him yahweh and he is laso known by terms like the most beautifull, most powerfull , all-knowing , etc ) is God.

This is a NON-RACIAL question..............I have heard that since it was preached to the JEWS BEFORE Petecaust(sp?) that it was intended ONLY for the Jews. Is that true? If it is, then doesn't that mean that it is irrelevant to "Gentiles"?. Opinions or suggestions greatly appreciated!

Mohammad's Koran says Jesus wasn't killed by the Jews. Mohammad says Jesus was switched at the last minute by a look-alike. Why do you change your story when people ask about the Jews being responsible for killing Jesus?

What if human sperm was put inside a female chimpanzee and she got pregnant and a human/chimp hybrid was born? I mean tigers and lions can have fertile offspring and so can grizzly and polar bears. Would this change any Christian's mind on the subject of creation? Don't tell me that it would never happen. I just want to hear how you would react if it did. You'd pretty much have to acknowledge Evolution then. It would prove that we were related.

Romans 1:26-27 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural [para physin] ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

I am not a gay-basher, nor am I a Christian. I just find it funny that homosexuals constantly deny that the Bible is anti-homosexual. How can you believe in a religion that tells you your way of life which you cannot help is a sin?

Please do not answer by saying 'being gay is a sin... blah blah blah.' I'm looking to hear from gays whose parents are Christians or are Christians themselves or at least have wrestled with this question before.

P.S. I'm not gay.

I noticed something interesting while reading the bible. Christ doesn't really ever go on about homosexuality, abortion, or war against terror. Jesus seemed to care about things like helping the poor, and loving thy neighbor, so why are these the last things on the Christian Right's minds??
