Romans 1:26-27 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural [para physin] ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

I am not a gay-basher, nor am I a Christian. I just find it funny that homosexuals constantly deny that the Bible is anti-homosexual. How can you believe in a religion that tells you your way of life which you cannot help is a sin?

Please do not answer by saying 'being gay is a sin... blah blah blah.' I'm looking to hear from gays whose parents are Christians or are Christians themselves or at least have wrestled with this question before.

P.S. I'm not gay.

I am wrestling with this question and came to the conclusion that I wont be gay anymo4re, so that I can be myself and believe in gawd.

You said please no saying being gay is a sin, but well, so it is and you can't have the cake and eat it or you're betraying yourself.

paul says not to be gay and paul has his teachings from jesus who appeared to him.....

someone gay and saying He or she is christian obviously has never read the bible. You can't be gay and christian...It's like being criminal and working for the police...it's not clean thinking...it's a contradiction...

Many homosexuals who remain Christians have felt compelled to seek out those answers for themselves as well. What they usually find runs along these lines (taken from the posted website):

"The words “homosexual” and “homosexuality” do not appear in the Bible—at least they are absent from the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts. The authors of the Bible did not understand sexual orientation; this concept was only developed in the late 19th century. The writers had little or no comprehension of same-sex committed relationships. Their languages had no words for these concepts. Rather, they assumed that everyone was heterosexual, but that some heterosexuals engaged in sex with persons of the same gender. Thus, when you see one of these terms in an English translation of the Bible, it is important to dig deeper and find what the original Hebrew or Greek text really means."

Not saying it's right or wrong (the translation thing I mean, I think the bashers are very wrong), I'm not even a Christian. But I know about this from 4 years in the Internet trenches of message boards regarding same-sex marriage.

It was okay to "bash" gays or perhaps to be racist. human beings have wised up and besides, its time we gave them some slack. Christianity on the different-hand has been unquestioned for hundreds of years. Blasphemy remains technically a criminal offense in Britain. we are purely in simple terms accomplishing a point the place we extremely CAN bash Christianity and poke holes in it. everybody is in simple terms making up for the thousand or so years the place it became secure by using kings and armies. different religions like Islam are nevertheless utilising worry and threats to give up human beings doing a similar, in spite of if it could have its time. Likewise, Jews play the persecution card by way of holocaust, yet each and every thing merits to be questioned and satirised. in actuality, it is totally needed in a very functioning democracy.

BEING gay is not wrong, but homosexual ACTS are the real issue. But let's not let heterosexuals off the hook here--the Bible has a lot to say about sexual morality that applies very much to heterosexuals as well--I think there's a lot that's not being said about chastity outside of marriage, but there are a lot of heterosexual Christians who justify their "extracurricular" behavior on the grounds that God will forgive them. But it totally misses the point. The questions I pose to both heterosexuals and homosexuals are, "Whose will are you seeking? And who are you trying to please, yourself or God?" I've come to the conclusion that God calls homosexuals to live a life of chastity, focused on Him--but God also never intended for every heterosexual to get married or have sex, either. God calls some heterosexuals to be celibate and to focus on deepening their relationship with Him instead of with a marriage partner. What matters isn't what we want, but what God wants for us.

I think the same way and I guess it's like I know I'm not suppossed to do a lot of things that I do and I'm a Christian. God forgives us for our sins and no sin is bigger or smaller than the other. Being gay is a sin and stealing a piece of gum is too.

ben_j_mac,
I am a Bi Christian. I have come here on these boards to explain the Gospel message. It is not the condemnation that is pointed at Gays especially. No! It is the message that tells us that Jesus died for our sins.

Now I know that it is popular to say, " Yes, but it's not okay to sin more after you are saved." To which I would say, "You are a sinner and will sin whether you have been Gay or never have been Gay."

Romans 3 and Galatians 3 both get into this comparison of the Old Law and the Law of Faith. They are essential to understanding the Gospel message, in my opinion.

Romans 3:19 ¶Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

He was the propitiation! Our sins, all of them, are washed away to those who believe.

Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The unbending Law became the schoolmaster. Strict, condemning, and had to be followed with relentless observation. But the Law of Faith connected those who believe to the cleansing of the Spirit of God, and will be the difference to those that end up living with God, and those that do not.

I am NOT a christian. However I would say simple, cause its the sexual acts that your bible considers a "Sin". Therefor sins are forgiven just like all other sins Christians commit. So in your religion, be gay have sexual relations with people of the same sex, pray for forgiveness and all is fine. After all don't you claim that he died for your sins? So having sexual relations with a person of the same sex is a sin.
Personally I don't see why gay people would want to be a christian. However I'm sure that they interpret the bible differently just like all christians do.

I am not gay...but I have fallen into many of the temptations described in the Bible. Therefore I depend upon Christ all the more - both to forgive me AND to transform me! Nothing is impossible with God!
