Religion is a personal matter. Other people cannot tell you what is a sin. SOme will quote 3:16 and say yes you are denying Christ. But being a good person and believing in Christ are not the same thing. NO being a good person is not a sin. Sometimes I pray with Jesus in mind and other times I pray with the Buddha in mind. I dont worship either. Dont worry just be yourself.

Why do you need to ask such questions ?
If you believe in God, you are saved already. If you also comply to the biblical laws, that is a plus. You will be in good hands. Done deal.

If you don't believe in God, but you live according to blblical laws. You have been a good person and love by many. If you are a great man, you will die honorably and proud of yourself. Isn't that good for you already ? To live a live that is filled with love and spread the love to everyone you know of ? And if you still be condemned because you don't worship, I think that is just unjust.
Anyway, at least you will be proud of yourself for being a good human being.

If you believe Jesus was a great man then you must believe that when he said, "no one can come to the Father except by him" he meant it.

What about the times he said that you must be born again? And that you need to be forgiven of your sins?

If you believe Jesus was a great man then you should reconsider all of his teachings and not just the select few that sound to your liking.

Being a good person is not a sin, but it will not absolve you of sin. And since the whole of Scripture points to Jesus as the only one who can absolve us of sin, we have no other choice. God did not provide any other way, as much as we may wish otherwise. And there is no standard for "decency" or goodness except God's perfection, and He tells us in the Bible to be perfect, as He is perfect--but the only way for us to be perfect is for our sin--our offenses against Him--to be forgiven. So now we're back to how we can have our sins forgiven, but since the Bible says that there is no other mediator through whom our sins can be forgiven, I'm not sure what else anyone can hope for since God has already provided the way for us to be forgiven and perfect.

Gospel According to Saint John ch 3
16 For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world, to judge the world, but that the world may be saved by him.

This makes perfect sense to me. Jesus (pbuh) was a great man, a devoted messanger of Allah and a very wise, loving, tolerant person, as all prophets. But at the end of the day, he is just a man, as all prophets. We believe in their message, live up to the teachings of Allah they deliver to us but when it comes to worshipping, we worship our and their creator, Allah.

You can't pick and choose the parts of God's Word you like, and ignore the rest.

If you don't want to be preached at, then stop doing it to others.
