Shaman training as in Celtic persuasion?

If you have NA roots and want to learn more about those roots, you will not find much info online. First, their "priests" are not shamans. I found out rather quickly while looking into my Tsalagi (Cherokee) roots that they do not like being called shamans. It may be different for Navajo, but I'm told generally they don't use the label. It's not fitting for them. Medicine Man is the closest thing we have in our language for it.

I suggest you find a Pow Wow near you. You may not find many going on during this time of year, but you will find plenty in the spring. Don't just jump right in with telling anyone you want to learn. This really turns them off and they will ignore any attempt you make in asking them anything about it. A student is quiet and listens... only ask questions when it's necessary. Of course, this is only if you are really serious about this. It takes a long time to find someone in the tribes to teach.

I really don't think you can learn shamanism adequately from a website, but you can learn a little about the path. This is a good essay on the differences between Classic Shamanism and Core Shamanism:

After reading that essay, you may find this site to be interesting:

I agree with what someone else said when they suggested that you look for a local Pow-Wow or perhaps you could search into the tribe of your own NA heritage. This is a very difficult and life-long path of service to others. Good luck in your journey.

You should start by learning to Journey, everything else will fall into place after that. There's a book out called Journey to the Sacred Garden. I can't remember the author, but it's an excellent start. You can contact me if you want more personal direction.

You need to focus more on reading up on all these different paths. You have previously asked questions on Islam, and Wicca, now you want to be Shaman? What will it be next week? Read up on everything, then decide which is for you, and stick with it for more than a few days. Religion, whichever you choose, should be taken at least partially serious.

If there's any actual info to be found, you'd probably be better off starting with an actual library. Anyone can post anything on the internet, and anyone claiming they could teach you stuff like that is probably a scam artist.

Go to a pow-wow, Rogue. Shamans don't choose themselves, they are chosen by the spirits and by their communities. You'll find both of these at a pow-wow or you won't.

Drop the mysticism and go for the reality of nature and paganism. Blue skies, water, earth, food, health, moon, iron, sun, lightning.

Forget the unreal.
