dont you agree with me on this? people keep saying "read the word of god" but god never wrote anything, he inspired people to write books for him, so shouldnt you just say "read the holy books" rather then the word of god. I mean he didnt tell the what to write they just wrote the things that happend, it was inspired by god but not written by him.

Is God "jealous" of Yoga? Would God mind if we opened our minds to new ideas and philosophies? We can still love God and learn. Can't we?

Exodus 32
"27 Then he said to them, "This is what the LORD , the God of Israel, says: 'Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.' " 28 The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died. 29 Then Moses said, "You have been set apart to the LORD today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and he has blessed you this day."

ONE OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS IS THOU SHALT NOT KILL SO WHY IS GOD SAYING TO KILL HERE?

ever since the school semester started, i've had a hard time opening up to people, especially to god. i get embarrassed when i'm in a group of people and we're all taking turns praying out loud and when it comes to me i cant think of anything to say. i'm a christian and i really like my religion and have come to accept jesus as my savior, so please dont mention changing my religion. and then when i can think of things to pray about, it's usually something really short and just feels forced. it's like i dont know how to pray naturally from my heart anymore. what can i do?

I am curious. Have you ever not told your priests your sins...like something you were too embarrassed or too horrified to tell your priest. Or have you ever told them something you did not do, just to see what their reaction would be? What did you tell them or not tell them?

I have always been fascinated by the concept of Honour. I tried to live my live according to a code, but I failed. Now it seems that even if I had to live a perfect life from this moment on, I will forever have to carry the dishonour of my past with me. What is the sense in that? I can fully understand the Samurai's need to commit ritualistic suicide after having lost their honour, but I have a wife I love and I am still honour bound to her (marriage vows! thank God I've never screwed those up!!!). So now I am kind of torn. Loathing failure, yet wanting to stay around for my family. Does anyone else somethimes feel the agony on Dishonour?

Christians, it is pounded into that you must spread the word of God to none believer (why you chose to threaten us with “Hell” is beyond me. Just makes me believe more in Atheism. Hint: if you want to get someone’s attention, spread stories of REAL miracles instead of threatening with punishment. Parents threaten children with spanking – but once that child grows up, he realizes he isn’t scared anymore. But I digress)

Anyways doesn’t it make sense that since you preach to us so you can SAVE us that we have a right to talk about evolution to EDCUATE you?

The bible doesn’t talk about Black holes, but they are true. Imagine what else is out there that is true that the bible doesn’t mention….

It is very interesting to discover that there are more Bible verses about Hell than there are about Heaven. Here are a few verses in the Old Testament about Hell. Daniel 12:2 proclaims, "Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt." Hell is described here as everlasting. Isaiah 66:24 declares, "And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind." In this Scripture, hell is described as a place where the fire is not quenched. Deuteronomy 32:22 portrays hell as a place where God pours out His wrath, "For a fire is kindled in My anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains." Psalms 55:15 illustrates hell as a realm of the wicked, "Let death seize them; Let them go down alive into hell, f

If you notice, there is a button beside a person's post that says "report abuse." I hope that we will all learn to use this button for people who post slurs, disrespect and ignorance. This is a nice forum, let's try to clean it up and keep it that way.

Does anyone know if there is a way to block certain users so that you don't see their questions or answers?

I'd like to know why some of the people on these board act disrespectuflly by posing ignorant questions that have nothing to do with religion and spirituality? Are people not taught any respect as children or do they have no lives and lack attention, so they seek it here by making themselves into "message board rejects?"

The sad thing is that if these people would ever find a moral belief system to adhere to, they wouldn't need to act this way and they might fit in instead of having to show out to get attention. It's sad.
