David J,
I'm not going to give you a lame answer. I have read the whole Bible and do not remember one thing about it saying, "Don't kill yourself."
I am not a Roman Catholic. And I do not believe it to be an unpardonable sin.
In most cases, I believe that it is stupid AND cowardly. An act of selfishness. Not in all cases, I'm sure, but in most.
What it does to the people you know, it totally harms them. That is; those that actually care about you. Those that are your enemies, they will get what they want. So why give it to them?
I've been close to suicide. I know.

It one of the 10 Commandments. Not tell where, people need to learn to read. Thou Shalt Not Kill. Suicide is killing, really it is.
Now, one me and my friends have questioned was King Saul. He did commit suicide on the field of battle, was he saved? He would have died anyway most likely.

The Ten Commandments say "Thou shalt not murder" murder is defined as homicide with malice-afor-thought, which means the cruel intent of premetated killing of a human or killing after you thought about it. The law has proven that you can not kill yourself without thinking about it and setting in your mind "I will kill myself" (it takes alot of willpower to kill yourself). Not only that but sucide is very selfish all you think about is your life you do not consider others feelings, typeclly when one commits suicide they say to themselves "my life sucks so I want to die," no one ever says "your life sucks so I want to die." finally I want to say, DO NOT COMMIT SUICIDE!!!!

Exodus 20:13
"Thou Shalt Not Kill"
Suicide is taking your own life.
"Thou shalt not kill" translates to
"Commit no murder" and that would apply to self as well as others.
