The Salvation Army uses the funds it recieves from donations and sales to run many charities, including shelters, lunch counters, employment, counseling, youth services, senior centers, and fighting international human trafficking.

The Salvation Army is one of the very few large organizations that does not have "corportate officers" in the triple digit pay ranks.
Most, almost all of the positions within the Army are volunteer, and with that set up, the donations to thrift stores, buckets and during their services (they are a real church) goes to furthering their mission work.
There are many missions within the Army.
A huge one that most of us see is the Christmas drive. They provide small boxes or bags for needy children at Christmas, most often the bags or boxes contain new socks, slippers, and a small age appropriate toy.
It is one of the few large organizations that we enjoy giving to.

Its ok in simple terms purchase it and go away the mattress ,besides its for a reliable reason ...despite the fact that some thrift shops are rip offs they get all those issues for unfastened and that they desire to sell it for extremely high priced .Salvation military could desire to be advantageous .i admire thrift shops i continuously purchase cool stuff there .

I've dealt with many organizations like that. They get comfortable
off of helping the less fortunate. And then could care less about the less fortunate. They just get FAT!
Don"t stop giving, but check and see where your money goes.
You'd be surprised how many shelters are private picnics for LOSERS, who crap on the people they are supposed to help. And mental health "professionals", whioget their "feelings hurt"
w hen someone stresses out and cusses them. And they leave them out on the street to DIE! And don't give a CARE!

It goes to support the Salavation Army who are working on the wall between Mexico and the USA right now. Good Luck ! :)

Some of it goes to Planned Parenthood operations so be very careful if you are pro-life
