Christians, it is pounded into that you must spread the word of God to none believer (why you chose to threaten us with “Hell” is beyond me. Just makes me believe more in Atheism. Hint: if you want to get someone’s attention, spread stories of REAL miracles instead of threatening with punishment. Parents threaten children with spanking – but once that child grows up, he realizes he isn’t scared anymore. But I digress)

Anyways doesn’t it make sense that since you preach to us so you can SAVE us that we have a right to talk about evolution to EDCUATE you?

The bible doesn’t talk about Black holes, but they are true. Imagine what else is out there that is true that the bible doesn’t mention….

1. It is not pounded into our head. It is commanded by Jesus in the Bible to spread the word.
2. As far as hell being a threat, then that is a personal problem that you must work out with God.
3. You mean they scientists are just now finding those black holes? Well let's take something more senseable. Like maybe the Earth revolving on it's own axis. Hey that was in the Bible long before a scientist made claim of discovering it.
4. If you feel any threat at the mention of Hell. Well the people that Jesus preached to must have been really uncomfortable because most of them were Religious Zealots.
5.As far as miracles well there is the raising of Lazarus from the dead, the healing of the woman who had a bleeding, I could go on and on, but it wouldn't do any good.
Besides who cares about black holes anyway. If and when God wants us to see through those black holes he will open them up. One in particular the Bottomless Pit that Satan and his followers will be placed in at the end of time.
6. The Bible talks more about Hell than it does about Heaven. So it is our duties to inform people about the place called Hell hoping and praying that none of you go there.

I'm very sorry that the Christians who have talked to you threatened you with Hell...I am a Christian, but I rarely try to scare people with Hell. You see, Christianity isn’t so much about what will happen if you don’t get saved, as it’s about what will happen if you do. Not going to Hell is just a side deal, getting a relationship with God, who loved his creation so much that sent his own son to the earth to be punished for all the bad stuff we’ve done so we wouldn’t have to pay the price. That’s what Christianity is actually about.

Anyways, to answer your question, I believe that you should have a right to talk about evolution, everyone’s entitled to their own beliefs. But things should go both ways, you don’t like us trying to jam religion down your throats and we don’t like you trying to jam evolution down ours.

By the way, the Bible may never mention black holes, but it also never says they don’t exist.

Sorry if this got sort of “preachy”...I'm not trying to start a religious argument by the way...just trying to help...

The Bible does talk about unicorns and fire breathing creatures. Why don't you think of what the Bible does say. Besides, my 7th graders science book doesn't mention black holes either-does that mean black holes don't exist? No, it means the author simply chose not to mention them. God chose not to mention black holes. The Bible also mentioned that the earth is round in the book of Job....LONG before Columbus or whoever actually first circumnavigated (Magellan comes to mind, but I don't recall my history classes from 6 years ago).

Yes, you do have a right to teach us your beliefs about evolution. The same right that lets us teach you about our beliefs on creation (which is specifically mentioned in the Bible).

It is important to trace the history of the bible and discover what was not allowed in it and exactly who disallowed it and wonder why?. A good place to start is The Harlot By The Side Of The Road by Jonathan Kirsch. Very enlightening stuff.

I'm not threatening you with anything. You are free to make your own chioces. I'm really not into the evolution debate. There are lots of things that aren't in the Bible. But what IS in the Bible is all that I need to know about salvation and the Kingdom of God. As for preaching to you, you sound very secure in your own beliefs. Peace. Be happy. Go your own way. I'm going mine. I'm following Jesus.

Sigh......Christians aren't "pounding" or "forcing" anything on you. These are people who have found content with this faith and truly belief in this path to salvation. They want to "SHARE" this with you and it is an act of love. If you encounter one of us who wishes to share the word, then politely say "No thank you" and move on.

Regarding Evolution...you claim it is Educating us, and I claim that it is deceiving us. There are TONS of evidence via Mathematics, Bio-Chemistry, Micro-Biology and through the Fossil record that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Theory of Evolution is seriously flawed and in no way should be considered factual information.

Many great scientistists have disagreed with Evolution including Nobel Prize winner Sir Francis Crick, who broke the DNA code with Watson.

Again, you are paying more attention to Bible thumpers than true Christians. A true Christian isn't going to threaten you with anything, nor would God need to threaten you. A loving, merciful father wouldn't do that, and I think that's the most important thing to keep in mind. The Bible thumpers are often very narrow minded people who generally lack the education and research to understand true Christianity.

It sounds like you are struggling with your belief system because of the actions of people. I understand. I live in a Bible thumping area myself, but if it doesn't seem good and true to you, it probably isn't. The only thing God gave each of us is our conscience, not a book.

I believe most christians want to serve their God and perhaps in their eagerness, come on too strong as they attempt to "go therefore into all of the world teaching whatso ever I have commanded you". However, Jesus also told his diciples to shake the dust from their sandals when they are met with hostility and dis-belief. At another point in time he told his followers not to cast their pearls before swine.
Perhaps with you, it is time to hold fast to the "pearls of wisdom" granted to us from God, throwing them before you no more.

A great delima for christians who truly want to be a loving provider of truth to a troubled world.

My cooking book doesn't mention black holes either, should I throw it away?

The bible wasn't written as a science text book.
When it does touch on science it is accurate.

When the government failed to act before or after Katrina, it was greatly criticized.

How much more so will Christians be judged if they failed to act prior to God's judgment?

As Christians its our task to share with others what God has done in our lives. We should share that Christ Jesus died for our sins and has paved the way to Heaven for us.

God is the only one who can save unbelievers not Christians.

If you were to die in 15 minutes without Christ where will you be? In Heaven living or in Hell burning? (Food for thought)

Blessings
