'he' must refer to a person, not a spirit, right?

John 16:12-14 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you

Avast! Ya horn swogglin' scurvy dogs!

ARRGH! 'tis now low tide in me timezone. That means that 'tis now September 19th, one o' th' holiest days o' th' voyage. 'tis Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Now, please show some respect fer me religion, as I shall spend th' rest o' this ere two tides speakin' only in buccaneer speach.

Th' idee be simple: in order t' honor our creator an' god, th' Flyin' Spaghetti Monster, we need t' obey th' lad's. An' he wants us t' talk like a swabbie today.

So, ye sons of a biscuit eater, put aside yer 'ole fancy talk, open ye a bottle 'o rum, grog, er rubbin' alcoh'l 'an drink a swill fer our lord.

RAmen.

now, I be supposed t' ask ye a question.
here 'tis:

Will ye talk like a shipmate today?

What say ye?
aye o' nay?

So Jesus supposedly died for our sins. In doing so he was condemned to hell for 3 days then got into heaven. Now people are expected to believe in him, worship etc to earn eternal life. Shouldn't we all be able to get off after 3 days? It's like the neighbor kid who wanted 20 bucks for doing a half *** job mowing my lawn.

I just became a Christian, but I can't just forget all the rational truths I know about the Bible. It is not all true. I know that. But does that make me any less of a Christian?

When you want to know what the scriptures say doyou trace it back to the original in Hebrew or just read it for what it says?
So many people here say that the scriptures were twisted by the translators.
Do you do what ll Tim. 2:15 says study to show yourself approved?

Except humans all other creatures on this earth, hunt for what they want for the day, accomodate themselves with nature, with no bother of God, Religion, Past life, future life, family, inheritance etc. etc. etc. Isn't this a lesson for all humans to learn from.

Are we using the so called additional sense (compared to other creatures) only for our destructions ?

Why can't we learn from other creatures, which also undergoes all love, struggle, birth/death as we do. Yet when they leave (die) they do so without damaging the planet they lived and also their kith & kin. I have never heard of other creatures who pray and practice a religion.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency

Pastor Butch Paugh who, in March of this year was invited to attend a meeting of his local FEMA chapter, has come forward to blow the whistle on a nationwide FEMA program which is training Pastors and other religious representatives to become policy enforcers who teach their congregations to "obey the government" in preparation for a declaration of martial law, property and firearm seizures, and forced relocation.

Invited Pastors were asked to make a pledge or an affirmation during the meeting to fulfil the roles ascribed to them by FEMA. The FEMA directors told the Pastors that attended that it was their job to help implement FEMA and Homeland Security directives in anticipation of any of these eventualities. The first directive was for Pastors to preach to their congregations Romans 13.

OK, some cartoonist in Denmark draws a picture about the prophet saying Islam is violent. Muslims worldwide respond by violence.

Then the Pope makes a statement (taken out of context I may add) which implies that our religion has a violent past. How does the Ummah respond ? With violence.

This madness must stop. The two violent sects of Islam (Sunni and Shia) are destroying the religion of the prophet. There are sects out there (Sufi and my own sect, the Zaidiyyah sect of Yemen) which understand peace, violence and tolerance, but we are in the minority. Do not believe Sunnis and Shiites who claim to be tolerant "moderate" Muslims. They do not exist.
