A little too literal in most cases, and they do tend to be pushy and a little obnoxious. they don't take no for an answer and consider everyone is 100% wrong. I've come across a few, they actual keyed a mark in a door of a neighbor of mine that said no thank-you. Don't get me wrong it is an actual faith, and I don't see them as a "cult". But, certain things like going to jail rather then serving a mandatory military term (in some countries); or not celebrating holidays don't make much since. Yes, government are corrupt, but it's because them you can believe what you believe. Yes, most holidays are Pagan based and Christmas really is Christ's Birthday. But, so what? They're not evil, they are a great chance to celebrate and spend time with the family.

Sorry I don't believe and understand much of what they have, but they are a recognized church.

My impression has been that they seem rather brave and/or intrusive in their quest to ensure they are a well known religion.

No offense meant to the J.W.'s...they are definitely loyal to their religious beliefs. Not many people are willing to knock on doors and hand out pamphlets in an attempt to convert other free thinking people. I just find that the entire religion makes me feel uneasy for some reason.

All I really know is they don't celebrate Christmas or Easter, and those two holidays are my favorites so I would not make a good Jehovah's Witness.

It's a false religion and they have twisted the Word of God (New World Translation is their bible - it is NOT taken for the original manuscripts).

Jehovah’s Witness believe that they constitute the one true church of Jesus Christ.

Witnesses teach that the trinity (triune Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is Satanic. ((Not Satanic it’s Biblical))

Jesus was originally Michael the archangel and that his Second Coming took place in 1914. ((Unfounded- not in the Bible))

Witnesses also believe that Jesus died on a stake and not on a cross. ((All historical accounts and three eye witness accounts in the Bible)).

They also deny the physical resurrection of Jesus and the personal nature of the Holy Spirit. ((See John. 20:11-21)).

Witnesses are against Christmas and Easter (Resurrection Day) celebrations.

Witnesses have been fixated on prophetic calculations. Their leaders, who claim to be prophets, can be viewed as false, given their penchant for error-laden apocalyptic pronouncements.

End of the world was predicted for 1914, 1918, 1925, the 1940’s and 1975.

Only 144,000 Witnesses will go to heaven. When in fact the book of Revelation speaks of the 144,000 it is referring to the Jews.

Other issues:

Members are forbidden to read material critical of the movement.

At one time Witness leaders even stated that faithful disciples should believe what they are told even if they know it is untrue.

Witnesses who disagree w/ Watchtower policy find themselves disciplined, sidelined or excommunicated.

Members remain aloof about evidence of corruption and hypocrisy at headquarters and oblivious to doctrinal and scholarly blunders in Society teaching.

Grace to you and God Bless!

I have little use for a group of people who believe that everyone who is not JW are devils. Why, then, do they come amongst us devils, with their brochures, if we are going to hell? And I am sorry, I am tired of their rudeness. I have told one group many times please not to come to my house, I work shift work, and they are waking me up. Their zeal to save me makes them think I should be disturbed, that the work they do is more important than my sleep. Not. My zeal to earn a living, and take good care of my patients, is the correct and righteous path. And, I know if I told them what I do for a living, they would redouble their efforts, since they have issues with some parts of modern medicine.
I have been polite, and calm and nice, but one of these days, the lady who answers the door in the green robe is going to get very angry. I asked them one day for an extra pamphlet, I had a patient who would have liked it very much. No, they couldn't give me one, I guess they want money for them. Sorry, the path to salvation, as my religious friend tells me, is not with money.

Let's look at what Jesus says. In Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law of the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Jesus clearly states that he was not sent to abolish the law, the law of which had already existed. So what is mentioned above cannot be discounted. Then Jesus continues to say, in Matthew 5:18 and 19 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Jesus here states that not even as much as a dot (tittle) shall not pass from the law. Every thing is kept the way it was. That is why the previous laws cannot be removed or discarded, and those who willfully change these laws "he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven.

P.S.
MARK;16-17-18 Poison yourself or be damned.
As mentioned previously, the religion of Jesus, as preached by him in the Bible in both word and actions, was a simple continuation, affirmation, and return to, the original message of Prophet Moses. The later concepts of "original sin," "atonement," etc. were not introduced into the teachings of Jesus by Jesus himself but by Paul and his followers. Paul and his followers succeeded in "spiritualizing" the message of Jesus and removing all obligations from it. Thus, the message of Jesus that was based upon faith and works was transformed into a message of faith without works and doctrines of sensationalism. To illustrate this point let us take the example of the following pop quiz:

1) Are you a Christian? Yes or no?

2) Do you truly believe? Yes or no?

3) Have you been baptized? Yes or no?

4) Mark 16:16-18 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; (a) In my name shall they cast out devils; (b) they shall speak with new tongues; (c)They shall take up serpents; and (d) if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; (e) they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

5) Once again. Have you (a)been baptized and (b)do you believe?

a) If NOT then you WILL NOT BE SAVED BUT DAMNED.

b) If a Christian has been baptized and believes then they should exhibit the "signs" mentioned above, such as being able to drink any deadly poison (such as battery acid, etc.) and not be harmed. How about the other signs? Can all believing and baptized Christians lay their hand on any randomly selected terminally ill cancer patient or paraplegic and have him rise completely cured? Does this not require that the Christian world be completely free of all illness, doctors, and hospitals? According to this verse, should not all-believing, baptized, Christians be able to do this if they truly believe are to be saved? If a Christian does not exhibit these signs, then does this not prove that they do not believe, and thus will not be saved but damned?

Be aware that people rarely spend, as much time thinking about the issue as blindly believed.

They believe in Jehovah, God. Sadly not enough. You need to believe in his son Jesus because he is the only way to the Father.
