i choose to disrespect muhammed. does anyone have a problem with it? if so, quit being so emotionally weak and start to realize: its a fact of life. you cant demand anyone to stop disrespecting someone/something. its going to happen no matter what, and by protesting, acting like a moron, and being as sensitive as a kitten isnt going to stop it.
if anyone insulted Jesus or Buddha or whatever, i dont go crying about it. am i right or am i right?

When christians pick and choose parts of the bible to believe and not believe. Does that make the bible more of a book on philosophy Than a book of facts given by god.
It seems like christianity is very amorphous. Some of its adherents saying one thing others saying something else. Do they believe the bible is fact given by god or simply a book of philosophy to study. And if they don't believe all of the bible then in essence wouldn't that make them god. Giving them the power to choose what is said by god or not. Furthermore if you had a belief in the christian god wouldn't you be frightened to say that his book isnt all true.
And for the record I have read the bible. I have studied the bible. I used to be a christian. I have consulted with theologists and I continue to study. So please don't respond advising me to do any of the above. I already am.

answer a research / survey question?

When you have the time to really write down what you believe in...

can you give your own personal belief system.
can you itemize the "truths" you believe in.
can you give a reason for your confidence or unbelief.
can you list things that you know that only your "religion" practice & try to explain why you do it.

note: there is no right or wrong answer, each individual has their own belief system. no reply will be used against you in a court law.

In 1989, the Ayatollah Khomeini pronounced a fatwah sentencing to death Salman Rushdie for his book The Satanic Verses.

Americas best known christian evangelist, Rev Pat Buchanan, sprang to the Ayatollahs defence without hesitation, damning the book as `a blasphemous assault on the faith of hundreds of millions.`

George Carey, Archbishop of Canterbury, said `I can well understand the devout Muslims reaction, wounded by an attack on what they hold most dear and would die for.`

Salman Rushdie has since insulted Christian Creationsim, in the Toronto Globe and Mail:

`we now have General Relativity, the Hubble Telescope and all the imperfect but painstakingly accumulated learning of the human race, and, on the other hand, the Book of Genesis. In (the USA) the scales balance.`

Isnt reactionary Islam clearly preferable to left wing Christianity and vastly preferable to secular atheism?

Shouldnt we be joining forces with Islam in a Christian Fatwah against Rushdie?

Not all Christians, Muslims etc are violent. Some people in general are violent and will "become" religious so that they can put a cause to their violent nature. Shouldn't we condemn the violent people not the religions they hijack? We all have to love each other.

Artists in our country profit with pictures of Christian figures with elephant dung on thier face, and people continually mock and make fun of the Christian faith. However when cartoons of the islamic prophet muhammed come out very few in the press show it. They claim sensitivity but the bottom line is that they feared the violence that may brought upon them by the "religion of peace". The pope recently made a stand and made remarks about how violent Islam was and muslims protested with what? Violence, thus supporting the Pope's assersion. My question is this: Why in our country, Comedy Central is completely comfortable making fun of Jesus and Christianity, but pull anything that makes fun of Islam? Why do people wear t-shirts everyday that make fun of Jesus, but none would dare wear a shirt poking fun at muhammed? Why do we see the virgin Mary covered in dung in an art gallery but never muhammed? Do we fear violence from the followers of muhammed? If not...

Are you all seeking the approval of the firm believers. I believe in the Lord and I also believe in the Bible and I try to live by it. I practice the 10 commandments and I know where to find them in the Bible. I pray and I worship. If we offend you Non-Believers so much why on earth do you all prowl arond this section and put us down? Wouldn't the simple thing to do is maybe pick another section and discuss what you all DO NOT belive in? I really like to answer questions that true believers have and feel like you all just try to push your non-beliefs upon them...

These are examples from the Gospel of Matthew were Jesus refered to the Old Testament in his teachings:

Matthew 22:29 Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.

Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures:
" 'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone;
the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

So shouldn't all Christians take both the New and the Old Testaments into account? If not, why not?

If what the Pope says doesn't matter, why all the fuss?
