I use reason to understand how the world works -- I consider that religion of any form is nonsense. In order to use reason and logic, some fundamental assumptions are necessary. I name two:
- The world works according to rules to which the laws of logic apply. It is not possible to demonstrate the truth of this proposition: logic is a man-made contrivance, intended to mimic how the world seems to work, but there can be no guarantee that it does so. Nevertheless, the proposition must be assumed true if we propose to use logic for understanding the world.
- Things will work in the future in the same manner that they have in the past, absent some force for change. You will recognize that this is a generalzation of Newton's first law. Again, there is no way to demonstrate the truth of this -- the world is under no obligation to continue working in the future as it has in the past: nature does as it pleases. But, again, we must assume this to be true, else we can predict nothing.
Using these postulates, and some ideas taken from the propositional calculus, we can prove what I call the Fundamental Theorem of Science:
- The predictive power of any theory derives exclusively from its refutability.
- Corollary: An irrefutable theory can predict nothing.
Discussion: Almost no theory can ever be proven to be correct: there is always the possibility of a counterexample lurking somewhere such that we have not yet seen it. It may be possible to prove that a theory is wrong; such a theory can be properly called a scientific theory, and (using the theorem above) used to make predictions. The theory of evolution is an exception: because it is not claimed to apply throughout all space and time, it can be proven correct, and I have done so.

Belief system: Strong Atheism. I believe there is no god.
Truths:
- Science holds all the answers that we will ever need
- People are innately good
- All people deserve respect
- Naturalism is the only proper way to look at the world
- Secular Humanism is a good driving force for "moral compasses"
Reasons:
- God as an abstract idea, and makes no sense.
- There is absolutely no confirmatory proof for god.
- If there was a god, he/she/it is not a relevant god
- Since we have obervable laws of the universe, we know that there is no outside force that arbitrarily affects those laws
- I do not require the concept of god to bring the universe into existence as it's intrinsically more difficult to create god than it is to create god, then the universe
- If there is a higher power outside of the universe, it is much more probable that there is many higher powers, or even an inifinite amount of higher powers. While many reject polytheism, I think if I were to ever cease being an atheist, I would be a polytheist.
- I don't want to live forever. I really really really want to die at some point. I can't imagine living forever in any state - I think that would be hell, no matter which place I ended up.
Practices:
- None. Enjoy your life to the fullest since you only get one shot at it.

i could not write all of it even if i continued for a thousan years. i beleive that the bible in its entirety is absolutely infalable. all of God's truths are real. the reason i beleive this is because it has given me full and meaningful life. there are two facts. one is that if we are wrong, than we live a better life than most. two is that if we are right, it is of infinantly great importance to the whole world. its kind of like blue pill, red pill situation like in the matrix movie. take the blue pill and you have nothing to wory about because it is not true. take the red pill and see how true and how fulfilling it really is. go to an alpha course and see what it is all about. there is another course that you can check out done by a guy called Phill Cann. he explores the christian faith on video aso that we can have a better understanding of what the faith is about. he starts it off with a worldly view of things and ends the series with a question that is relavant to every walk of life from the dawn of time to the end of time. the series is called Quest.

Court of Law? Now I'm nervous!! LOL
Ok.
1. My belief system is eclectic but Wiccan.
2. I believe in Nature/Universe as the fundamental One, divided in half, into a duality of Light and Dark, God and Goddess. Divinity can then be seen as facets of a diamond when you look at separate Pantheons. All Gods are one God. I believe that Magick exists in everyone because we are all connected. I believe it is wrong to harm another being. I believe in Karma.
3. I feel more at peace with Wicca than any other religion I've studied. Also, I've seen evidence of magick and energy many many times. The connection we have to the universe manifests itself constantly. The details are too personal to relate.
4. In my religion (since Wicca is personal), I practice full moon rituals (though many pagans do that) and rituals on the Sabbats (again, many pagans do that.) I practice spell work, tarot and herbal work. Among other things. But you will find that many pagans do a variety of these things. And some do none. I do these things because they connect me to the divinity within and without and bring me peace and empower me to change my own life.

I believe that I live on a very small planet that supports carbon-based life forms. I believe this planet was "created" and that human beings differ from the other lifeforms on this planet, in so far as we have control over our actions which can affect the other lifeforms on this planet. Basically we humans are all the same on the inside, whatever our race or nationality. We require food, shelter, water.
We are all looking for the same answers, why are we here? And yet we all disagree as to what the answer might possibly be. We tend to conjugate in groups that believe the same as we are taught, and fear and mistrust anything we do not understand.
We have silly, ridiculous names for those people and we seem to get quite a bit of enjoyment out of aggravating them. Sometimes we do mean cruel inhuman things to each other, we fight over resources, land and things that will not matter when we no longer exist on this planet. Death, no one in recorded history of human life on this planet has ever escaped it, will come to each of us.
For me personally I try to live each day as if it where a gift, I see the beauty of the planet I inhabit, I see the beauty of the diverse group of life forms that are here-now. I try not to judge others, as I have no real understanding of what they may truly feel in their heart. I am not here for them, but only myself. Even if we are different, I recognize the sameness of us all.

I believe in the Creator, but I'm a bit of a Pagan and believe that nature is full of all different kinds of spirits. My beliefs are based off of my own spiritual experiences.
I don't believe any organized religion has all the answers, I also don't believe in following the words of men. Nature, the creation, is the best source for learning about the Creator! I also try to read as much as I can about other religions, mythology, philosophy, history, science, etc.

I do not belive in God. I think we are all here with no purpose. I think we live and then we die. It seems sad, but it is reality. I think people who believe were taught, and people who were givin the time to figure it out for themselves use common sense. If there is a God, why is there people starving all over the world? I consider myself a good person, and it really irritates me that some people tell me I will not go to Heaven because I am not baptized, but murderers will if they only ask forgiveness. That is ridiculas!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe in philosophical beliefs. I believe in certain virtues and morals in different philosophies, mainly coming from Descarte and Aristotle. I also agree with Buddhist/Confuscionism philosophical ideals with some existentialist thoughts. The truths I follow and believe in are that humans are one and we follow different religions and path to reach our own enlightment. I also believe that our thoughts create our actions, but while human existance is suffering, we can view the buddhist thought of enlightment through "the middle way" not too much or not too little. My reason for this is that growing up a Catholic, i disagreed with the faith and believes and found that studying philosophy, and studying ethics and human behavior, it just clicked in my brain.
