This was part of a IM i had received after i answered a question with the best of my knowledge regarding what someone thought was a contradiction(which many things can be seen that way) I understand people feel passionate about their beliefs but when you take that passion across a line which i believe this did then you gain nothing and no one learns anything. Judging one by another's actions is plan wrong no matter what faith/religion or lack of you believe in. You can teach and learn more by showing respect to what one believes (even if you don't agree) then you can by being flat out rude, inconsiderate, close-mined, and judgmental. I may not agree with what people believe but i do try my best to listen and respect their beliefs.

To the one who wrote this i am sorry you feel so harshly against someone you don't even know. I ask you forgive me for whatever wrong doing i did unknowingly against you. I am sorry.

Philemon 1: 6 says, "I pray that you may be ACTIVE in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ."

The word "active" comes from the greek word "energes" which means to be active, effectual, or powerful. This makes complete sense when you look at the word, becuse it is where the word "energy" comes from. So one could say that we should be actively & powerfully sharing our faith, and be effectual in doing so.

Have you been "active" in sharing your faith or do you not consider it a priority at all in your life? If so, are you being effectual? If not, what do you think you have to do to change?

Also, how active should we be? Should we ever give up?

I was added to the body of Christ about 5yrs.I attend worship service on a regular base and bible study/school.On two separate occasions i was approach by two different women in the church who commented to me my dress was too short ,another time my split was too high in their opinion. However, i do have mirrors ALL around my home and there is nothing wrong with my attire in my opinion neverless,i must let it be known these same two women are known in the church as troublemakers and in everyone's business. Both are over 50yrs of age, no husbands, no children, but they both seems to have something to say about what's wrong/right in everybody's life.I placed my membership at the church because it is 5minutes away and my worship is a MUST in my life.I will speak to to these women to inform them their comments are unwanted/unnecessary,even if they approve or disapprove keep your opinions about my attire to yourself or tell it to some one who cares about what U think of my outfits,AM I RUDE?

You are aware, I hope, that the Bible forbids it. This in the New Testiment. So if you've been gabbing in church, hold your tongue. Just ask the hubby any questions that you have when you get home. Don't try the "out of context" argument here. It simply will not hold any water.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 - Let women be silent in church; they are not to be allowed to speak. They must submit to this regulation, as the Law itself instructs. If they have questions to ask they must ask their husbands at home, for there is something indecorous about a woman's speaking in church.

when every time i wanna address a law your lame excuse is always "oh that's from the old testament"
so what exactly is in your SO CALLED christian religion??? NO LAWS???
weired because as far as i know Jesus said that he didnt come to abolish the laws but to FULFILL them.

Matt 5:17-18 a little bit closer: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

is this NOT clear to most of the christians of today? do they think that they should live with NO laws??

no wonder why 90% of you are hypocites. sorry but it's a FACT.

There are good and needed issues to discuss about faith, but, this is a dysfunctional site.

I can hear the free speech comments come up, but, there is a lot of verbal assualt and degenerate discussion that is completely unnecessary.

I know it cannot be stopped, but, for that reason, this site is useless for the purpose it was intended.

I recently found out about Islam over the summer. I was deeply in Christianity. I started going to church when i was 6 months. I was baptized in February of this year,I am 15 now. I am also youth president and state youth presdient of the baptist church in Delaware. My stepmom who is Muslim simply showed me book over the summer. And open my eyes to the truth. I haven't converted yet due to fear. Is it okay to be scared? I deeply believe in this. And even if i wasn't becoming a muslim i still wouldn't stay a christian. My whole extended is behind me 100% and they are muslims. My spirtitual mother who is a Christian and the pastor's wife is being selfish...and says I am abandoing the church and the youth. I feel from numb from my great aunt saying comments, to people thinking i am trying to convert them. Why so many stereotypes of Islam? Please help, converts to Islam only please?

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. (From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 22:28)

how exactly does paying the girl's father some lousy money and MARRY the girl makes it fair for the girl that was violated??
this is a LAW in the bible, i dont care whether you use it or not.
if you don't apply it then it's really YOUR fault because you SHOULD apply God's laws right?
or you like to pich and choose?

According to the book of Revelation, on the day of judgement, god will liberate everyone from hell and pass judgement on them. But what the hell were they doing in hell before judgement was passed on them? Are there two rounds of judgement, and if so, why would a perfect being need to review its own work?

why didn't the people who knew about this inform the authorities and stop it ?

What other prophecies are imminent that we can stop or are these prophecies of no practical use to us?

that is it. Muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet like Mohammed. So, You have to respect Mohammed as we repect Jesus. You must believe in him as a prophet just like jesus, no difference between prophets of Allah. they are all the same, Jesus like Mohammed like Moses like....

There are scientific indications in quran written from 1400 years, and they were just proven in the 20 th century..... Surf the net and know the right way....I am online now.

Is it to much to ask if you kindly kept your religion to yourself? Many Christian's claim to be "tolerant" of other religions, yet "tolerant" is not the appropriate word, why not show respect to other people's religion? You could also try to stop forcing your belief's and moral ideas upon others. Do not damn someone simply because they are doing something that you find inappropriate in your religion, wether it's assisted suicide, or abortion, or prayer in school, anything for that matter. If you could simply do this, if you could simply learn to respect other people and their religious or non-religious belief's, I think you might be surprised at how people will change their perception of YOU and YOUR religion. As evident by YA - you are simply making more people angry and hateful towards your religion, myself included. So - do you think you could do this or is it to much to ask? Or do you enjoy constantly being attacked and having people point on the errors in the bible. Thanks
