I recently found out about Islam over the summer. I was deeply in Christianity. I started going to church when i was 6 months. I was baptized in February of this year,I am 15 now. I am also youth president and state youth presdient of the baptist church in Delaware. My stepmom who is Muslim simply showed me book over the summer. And open my eyes to the truth. I haven't converted yet due to fear. Is it okay to be scared? I deeply believe in this. And even if i wasn't becoming a muslim i still wouldn't stay a christian. My whole extended is behind me 100% and they are muslims. My spirtitual mother who is a Christian and the pastor's wife is being selfish...and says I am abandoing the church and the youth. I feel from numb from my great aunt saying comments, to people thinking i am trying to convert them. Why so many stereotypes of Islam? Please help, converts to Islam only please?

There will always be fear of those who do not respect your decision but God wanted you to know the truth. All that matters is that you please God.

My Mother did not respect my choice when I converted to Islam. I wish you peace on your journey.

I think all the stereotypes come from a lack of knowledge on americans part. Ever since 9/11, it's been stereotyped as a terrorist religion. Now, I'm full fledged non-denominational christian (meaning while I believe whole heartedly in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as being my way to salvation, and the Bible being the Word of God, I feel that organized religion was created by man and I'd rather skip man and go directly to The Source) From what little I understand, Muslim/Islam in its pure form has nothing to do with terrorism, and in fact preaches peace and tolerance.... I can't help you convert, I don't judge if you do, and I applaud you at such a young age for being so involved in your religion... I do however say that in the spirit of tolerance, hear your spiritual mother out. If she's truly a christian, while she won't support your decision, she'll still love you.

you are in a big challenge the media in your country has a great role and a lot of them has a political agenda and always tell false issues about Islam . I advice you that you must study Islam well and know answering some famous questions that others will attack you by them ,before the surrounding know about your thoughts . in the past Muslims covered their religion for long period ' you can do that until you finish your study about Islam
I advice you by this site www.islamonline.com

let me tell u one thing very clearly sister -- Allah says that no one should convert for another man/woman. only if they have learnt what Islam and Allah is all about, and if they accept it whole-heartedly. so please if u are planning to convert, then do it for no man but only for God.

i would ask you to pray whole-heartedly and ask God to guide u in the right path. go to masjid-mosque and ask the local imaam if u have any doubts. read the Quran and get to know Islam more. may Allah guide u in the right path and give u lots of courage and strength.

Al-Baqara | 286 verses | The Cow سورة البقرة
Sura #2 | Madina
256 There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower.

remember sister -- Islam is not a religion -- it is the way of life.
if there is any way i can help u know what Islam is all about and who a true muslim is, then please fell free to ask me. i will be more than willing to help u know what Islam is all about.
as for now, i'm giving u 2 videos, hope it will be of some use to u. they just take about 30minutes, hope u have sometime saved.

I'm not a convert and i'm a moderate which means that i cop a lot from both sides, but i love God and i love Islam. If you are going to convert it is only your choice no one else's. But if you are, i know people are putting up a lot of websites which you probably won't visit, but i BEG you to visit this one, i believe iti s the greatest Muslim website and changed my life, infact i feel like i've converted to a better, truer form of Islam after myself being introduced to it: http://www.submission.org/
Please, please visit it, it will change your life and it is really simple to navigate.

Have patience, young sister and stick to what you know to be truth. Check out my friend Jennah's web site, www.revertmuslims.com. It addresses many issues that you have faced or will face, and there is a forum for discussion of reversion related (or general) issues.

It is perfectly ok and normal to be afraid.

Open a dictionary to the word stupid and do not be surprised to see a little picture of you next to it. There are no gods so anything based on such rubbish cannot be truth. Islam and Christianity are the same, ....FALSE!
