Philemon 1: 6 says, "I pray that you may be ACTIVE in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ."

The word "active" comes from the greek word "energes" which means to be active, effectual, or powerful. This makes complete sense when you look at the word, becuse it is where the word "energy" comes from. So one could say that we should be actively & powerfully sharing our faith, and be effectual in doing so.

Have you been "active" in sharing your faith or do you not consider it a priority at all in your life? If so, are you being effectual? If not, what do you think you have to do to change?

Also, how active should we be? Should we ever give up?

I haven't been active in sharing my faith on a daily basis but it should be a priority and we all shouldn't give up. I believe that the Holy Spirit leads me to the open minded person at the right place and the right time and I am happy to be submissive.

Yes I am active in my faith, no I don't shove it down people's throat, but I do show it by my action. Besides we all know that actions speak louder than words. I show my faith everyday, by being kind to others, helping others, sometimes people call upon me to pray with them, sometimes I might interpret the Bible if they ask. You don't have to be like John the Baptist, but we can be like Christ.

sharing with others is fine however there are many different Belief Systems and what works for you may not necessarily work for me. therefore each individual has an individual right to worship the way they want because of free will.

Sure, sharing your opinions and beliefs is perfectly legitimate. Oh, sure, you'll get some answers here from atheists about how annoying it is when other people share their beliefs...but I notice that the atheists here aren't shy about sharing THEIR beliefs with others...so why should they expect others to behave differently?

Share away! :-)

If you have beliefs about God and his divine purpose being inactive is not an option. Your words can plant the seeds of spiritual awakening in people's minds and that awakening is the first step on the road to Nirvana.

How active should you be? Wait for someone to ASK you about your faith. And that's it. Proselytization is not a virtue.

Please, please do not become active in sharing your faith. There is NOTHING more annoying than someone on a ramble-fest.

i am a spiritualist, and i believe in (each to their own)
if someone wants to know about your beliefs, then they will ask
. i do not believe that you should try to change anyone elses belief just to suit yours.
if people ask me about mine then i will happily tell them all i can about it, then i will leave it up to them to decide what they want to do with it.

No, I keep my faith for myself.

I don't want to convert anyone to what I believe in.
