Yes, he doesn't stop making remarks of the sort. I really don't want to know what goes in the mind of that guy. He hasn't had sex for decades. I don't understand how he hasn't gone crazy yet.

have you seen the context of his remarks? he didn't quote the guy approvingly, he was discussing those views in the context of relations between religions. this seems to be a case of a reference being misperceived as condonation/sanction

That he is a fundamentalist is a given, we already knew that about him, before he was Pope.

He's also human and makes mistakes on occasion.
