I've always been curious about him. Who was he? Where did he come from? Why were all those people yelling for his release, instead of Jesus?
I'm reading The Book of Barabbas, Searching for the Messiah...I got it at Amazon.com. It's fiction, but it's a d*mn good book. Has anyone else read this book?
The second book, Finding Salvation is coming out soon.

... Here's a small quote:
"In the city of Mashhad in north-eastern Iran, two gay teens have been executed. One was 18 and the other is thought to have been 16 or 17. First they were lashed 228 times, though. Not long after the execution there were howls of outrage from the Iranian parliament - not at the execution itself, but at the temerity of journalists to report it."
I have read many posts on this very site saying, "People are racist, thinking that all Muslems are terrorists. Muslems are good people..."
Okay, the situation is not simple. This is a clash of cultures, a clash of values. There is clearly something rotten at the core of Islam -- that "Islam is a religion of peace, it's just a few bad apples that blow up buildings..." excuse simply cannot fly anymore. How can we have an honest discussion without admitting that certain behavior & beliefs ARE NOT OKAY?

I began answering questions on this site because I thought it would be a good way to connect with other christians, share viewpoints, help someone if I could. It seems this site is more for jokes and foolishess than for anything spiritual or religious. I just wonder is there anyone out there that is sincere and really interested in asking & answering these questions? Not only christians, any of you guys & gals, does anyone care?

Im so confused, they say that God has told them to kill these abortionists, however they also say that God hates these people that kill...I dont understand how they justify what they are doing. By killing the people who perform abortions, your committing murder, which is what you claim you are trying to stop!!! Does anyone else find this the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard of???

Hi
I am a muslim. But I don't understand why people of different religions can't just share their knowledge, culture and religion without expecting them to convert to their way of thinking. Can't we all be like a grocery store which has all of the products lined up without any pressure and the customer evaluates and chooses on his own in a very comfortable environment. Not the environment where people argue from different religions. Let just be tolerant & Ready to learn new things from others./

I posted a fully detailed argument for the question, which wont fit here, at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-YkHfXekwbrLjAFMPIIyoJzM-?cq=1&p=526

what I want to know is,

Wouldn't it make more sense, as a person with faith, to be pro-abortion knowing that any candidate for abortion is more likely to be born into a home where chances are the parent(s) are not religious and won't bring their child up to believe in God, therefore raising the odds that this child's life will end up landing his/her soul in hell?
Because before they were born, they were innocent and their souls would automatically be sent to heaven, but by saving their life (which, is likely to be full of hardship, if the parent(s) have reason to consider abortion in the first place) you now have taken that guarantee away from them, and put them in more danger of not attaining a spot in heaven that you ever had, since you were raised to believe in God.
(also, you can let me have it on my blog if you want to) ;)

Sometimes I feel really in tune with things and it seems like I can feel spirits or other beings around me. At times I am ok with this and just think that they will do me no harm, but other times I just get creeped out and really feel scared and paranoid. Sometimes I just get the feeling that something is watching me and I want it to go away and it freaks me out, and other times I think nothing is there or just think, oh well it's ok.

So what is your take on the spirit and ghost thing and the existance or nonexistance of paranormal beings?

This is a great work of fiction! I was amazed, since the author is female...the book has real guts!
Only problem was, the first book left me hanging. I understand the second book will be out soon, and I can't wait!
If you haven't read it, it's available at Amazon, BooksAMillion, and probably lots of other online bookstores. Just type in "The Book of Barabbas"

Yesterday at Sunday school I was confronted by my preist...a skinny man with glasses and a large beard. Earlier at sunday school I had questioned my teacher's explanation of what will happen to me when I die and how she knew this...She held up the bible and told me it explains everything and I asked her if she thought a book that says that itself is the word of god is a bit of a biased source. she left the room and....That's when the preist came IN! He took my by the arm and led me to his office and started explaining to me about how a virus can effect other people when coughed up and all other kinds of wierd stuff...then told me i was spreading a virus when I questioned this out loud. I still stuck with my point of view though and that's when, suddenly, he pulled a random paper cup from under his desk and filled it with KOOL-AID!!! Then, reached his other hand into his robe and *click*...what sounded like the lever of a pistol. He then offered me the kool-aid! I pushed over the...

I am a dedicant of Wicca. Maybe I am trying to analyze but I wonder if anyone can tell me--or direct me to someone--who can explain what this line is supposed to mean:When misfortune is enow, Wear the Blue Star on thy brow. Along with any ideas or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate the citations or references from whence the info came! Thanks everyone.

Please detail here exactly how much of Darwin's work, or related evolutionary scientific literature, you have read. I don't care whether it's The Origin of Species, The Descent of Man, The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals or his work on barnacles. You might have read Dawkins's The Selfish Gene, Gould's Ontogeny & Phylogeny, or Bowler's The Non-Darwinian Revolution. I don't care if it's only one page (though I think it should be more), I'm really curious to know how much any of you have read to be so certain there is no truth in evolution. Sermons by non-scientists don't count. If you have read nothing, or very little, please explain how this works for you. Let's make this an interesting one.

Oh, and so I don't have to add it in as Additional Details in ten minutes, I've read the Bible cover to cover, obviously. And all of the above. And some. Thanks.
