I am a dedicant of Wicca. Maybe I am trying to analyze but I wonder if anyone can tell me--or direct me to someone--who can explain what this line is supposed to mean:When misfortune is enow, Wear the Blue Star on thy brow. Along with any ideas or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate the citations or references from whence the info came! Thanks everyone.

Blue Star Wicca is one of the older Wiccan traditons. I do believe it was they who wrote the Wiccan Rede. So as far as I can tell, it means that even when times are bad, you can be proud to be Wiccan.

I don't see these words in the versions I find. Closest I find is:

"When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow."

Not sure why your version includes the 'blue' component. Blue though is a color of silence and serenity, so the version you write may be indicating, "Keep your wits about you and keep calm." The equivalent might be, "This too shall pass."

Ahhhh, here we are, the wikipedia version DOES mention the blue specifically.

In practicing what you have learned, in casting spells for whatever reason, do only good to any human being. Do no harm to anyone. Cast no spell that helps any self interest on your part. Live to help others. Pray to the Creator who made you and ask to be guided in the highest path you can presently attain., and
Bless All
now and forever.. Not to do that would draw certain spirits to you, to do your bidding and in so doing d estroy opportunities you may have or attract now or later.

I'm going to be the great big jerk that my teacher was to me.

Spend some time with the lines you don't understand. Meditate on them and search your own heart. That is where you will find what it really means.

I'm really trying to help, honestly.
