Hi
I am a muslim. But I don't understand why people of different religions can't just share their knowledge, culture and religion without expecting them to convert to their way of thinking. Can't we all be like a grocery store which has all of the products lined up without any pressure and the customer evaluates and chooses on his own in a very comfortable environment. Not the environment where people argue from different religions. Let just be tolerant & Ready to learn new things from others./

People have logic, they can choose what they want on their own. Let's just create an environment where they can easyly do exatly that. They can choose or choose not to choose.

That would be wonder-full, now wouldn't it? Unfortunately, as long as you have people who shout to the rooftops, "This IS the ONLY WAY," you will never be able to achieve the friendly little grocery store that you envision. All the Christians will see is Jesus on a cross-stick. They will be unable to see all the tasty treats nearby.

I think the Hindu section would be great. Such variety of deity and so much spice! And the Wiccan section with all the various pantheons that they work with? You might need to build an addition to your store!

The agnostics would wander around unsure of which treat they should buy, and the atheists would be sitting in the parking lot, reeving their car engines wondering what's taking everyone so long.

Now that I think of it, this would make a great short story. I call dibs!

The vast majority of people are tolerant of others religion. We must all be on guard against our own zelots. I no more believe that Osama is represnative of my Muslim brothers than I believe Jim Jones was represenative of Christians.

I am a Christian, but any chance I get, I will defend Islam from those who miscaracterize it.

Peace be unto Thee and Thy House.

I could not agree more. I too am guilty of being intolerant. I do not like the fundamentalists. That anger is something that I need to work on. Hating is counterproductive to enjoying life. We all worship the same God. We should accept others beliefs without claiming that any one will go to hell.

A christian should be tolerant because it is God's work to turn hearts to Him. Our job is to share the good news of His plan of salvation and love for people and then let His Spirit do the work of the heart. Any pushiness or beligerance, is our own selfish pride and not the spirit of Christ.

As a Christian, there is only one way...Jesus Christ. There is no room for entertaining other faiths except to know something about them culturally, and to know better how to speak to someone of a different faith regarding Jesus Christ. As Christians, we are called to go into all the world, making disciples of all men, and to share the good news, seasoned with salt (respectfully). It's up to the receiver of the information to accept or reject it. It's out of love. Remember, disagreeing is not intolerance...speaking out for what one believes is not intolerance, even if it offends...murdering in the name of one's faith is.

Because each of our religions requires of us to impose our law system, which are mutually exclusive. I say we just split up the world and live in our own countries. Visitors must follow the religious intolerance of their host countries.

I'm afraid that even when it comes to grocery stores ther is "evangelism, arguing, debating and slamming others etc." It's called marketing and advertising.

Religion is an idea. We are share diffrent ideas. We should respect different ideas as long as it doesn't hurt others. Well said I totally agree with you.
