I posted a fully detailed argument for the question, which wont fit here, at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-YkHfXekwbrLjAFMPIIyoJzM-?cq=1&p=526

what I want to know is,

Wouldn't it make more sense, as a person with faith, to be pro-abortion knowing that any candidate for abortion is more likely to be born into a home where chances are the parent(s) are not religious and won't bring their child up to believe in God, therefore raising the odds that this child's life will end up landing his/her soul in hell?
Because before they were born, they were innocent and their souls would automatically be sent to heaven, but by saving their life (which, is likely to be full of hardship, if the parent(s) have reason to consider abortion in the first place) you now have taken that guarantee away from them, and put them in more danger of not attaining a spot in heaven that you ever had, since you were raised to believe in God.
(also, you can let me have it on my blog if you want to) ;)

The only reason Religions are anti abortion is that an unwanted or poorly brought up child is more likely to turn to religion then the average person, therefore the religion gets more bucks. But my guess is that you already knew that.

In a word, no. First of all, you are assuming that children are "born innocent". That, from a reformed Christian perspective, is incorrect. We all fall short of the glory of God. The Bible makes it very clear on that point. Our sinfulness is not something we do, it is something we are. Sin is by definition, a state of separation from God. Therefore, your beginning premise is incorrect. There is no guaranteed state of sinlessness. You and I where conceived in sin, we are tainted to the core of our being with sin. That is why we need a savior.

Second, it is God who decides who goes to eternal life and who goes to eternal punishment, not us. We cannot and should not claim to know were people are headed after life. By the same mark, how do you know they will have a hard and damning life? Since we cannot see into the future, how can we say we are doing the right thing by killing that child?

Finally, if you have an abortion you are killing a child. Holding a pro choice perspective means you are agreeing that this is a good thing. Again, from a reformed Christian perspective, you would be committing a sin. A sin that, unless repented for, could lead you into Hell.

Wow, to seanswimsnrt:
good point. Probably, yours is the only good point made by an answerer up until your post.
Not that I'm for abortion, and Rachel- you're still wrong about the fact that you think men don't have the right to speak out about it, but its kind of sad to see that no one bothered reading your post except the pro-choice person.

I guess pro-life people are always going to be sheep who don't actually evaluate things presented to them, but simply believe whatever their church group tells them to.

Wow, I love how you get like 11 retarded responses from people who obviously didn't bother reading more than a line before offering their cliche opinions... I told you that you'd waste your time by posting here.

Anyway, as per your blog: Castration and child-rearing are no where near equivilent, Rachel. I see what you're getting at but castration implies the end of the man's ability to have children.
Thats not fair. Pick a different body part.

I like it! I think the problem they have with it is that it is still "killing" four cells... but anyway: for those who have said killing an unborn child is a sin, consider this:

Who is doing the killing? The mother who likely is not religious in the first place, the mother who has already commited a "sin" having sex out of wedlock... and all sins are equal in gods eyes, right? So therefore, to truly save the life of the child, you let the mother choose... Abortion, child goes to heaven, you go wherever you were supposed to go before, and the mother, well... whats another "sin"?

Exodus 21:22-25 prescribes the same penalty for someone who causes the death of a baby in the womb as the penalty for someone who commits murder. This clearly indicates that God considers a baby in the womb as just as much of a human being as a full-grown adult. For the Christian, abortion is not a matter of a woman’s right to choose. It is a matter of the life or death of a human being made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26-27; 9:6).

Interesting question.

By forcing a person into never having the choice to choose between right and wrong, that will save them? Perhaps... but God never forced a choice on us, why should we permit the forcing of a choice on another?

To compound matters... think of those who could have gone to good Christian homes, in life, and believe whole heartedly until the day they die... yet, because they never had that option, if they stand before God on Judgement Day, they have an unevaluated choice of rejecting God right then and there... those few precious decades could have had a drastic effect on them, yet were denied to them because they were aborted.

I guess I am against abortion for several reasons..God states in the bible that he already knew up before we were even conceived. That messes with my mind. If he already knew us, our name, everything...then it is he that created us. Why would we destroy something that God trust us with to love and to care. Because he sent that child to you..YOU..to take care of and to nourish, love, and most of all..teach it about God and his everlasting love. Second, when they do abortions..they actually inject pure saline into your womb and it literally burns the baby like acid until there is nothing left. That is jsut wrong. Now if you plan on having a partial-birth abortion....they actually induce labor and when you deliver the baby, it comes feet first, they stop the baby with its head still inside you with body and legs dangling and squirming,(wondering what is going on and trying to get air) and they take large scissors and insert them into the back of the baby's head (near the neck where all the central systems are) and open them and twist them around and it destroys all the brain. Upon doing all this, the baby is still moving and sometimes continues even after the procedure. The baby's head then collapses and they pull the rest of the baby out and if it is not moving...Ok, if it is, they take it out of the room and continue to kill it where you can't see what they are doing. DOES THAT SOUND LIKE SOMETHING YOU COULD LIVE WITH ...KNOWING THAT BECAUSE OF YOUR DECISION OR OTHERS DECISION..YOU JUST SIGNED PAPERS FOR THE AUTHORIZATION FOR SOMEONE TO KILL A BABY HANDMADE FROM GOD?

Abortion is killing - its murder!

Do you realise that a fetus nerve endings are formed by the end of the 6th week, and therefore feels pain during the abotion process. Have you seen pictures of abortions? It's sickening, and yet this is allowed to go on day after day in this world.

How disgusting!!!!!!!!!

I've used this argument too. If the aborted get a fee pass to heaven, stay out of it. Let their god sort it out.

Killing an innocent baby for the sins of the parents is not cool.

Is this like Mercy killing now?

There are many great people in this world that came for meager even abusive backgrounds.

All of this odds and the babies odds, are all odds and subjective.

What is not subjective is;

Thou Shall Not Kill.

It is so simple!

Can you imagine Jesus himself running an abortion Clinic?

Peace!
