I have asked this question before, didn't get any feasible explanations. There is no explanation as far as I'm concerned, and that is one of the reasons why I don't consider the Bible to be any more factual or accurate than Grimm's Fairy Tales.

The bible only lists the relevant names of the time. Otherwise it would be too big to read.

Adam and Eve didn't only have three children. They had many, but Cain, Able and Seth were the three relevant to the Genesis scriptures. However, Adam and Eve had sons and daughters. These children grew up and married.

And no, incest was not a factor in those days. The reason it is a taboo now is because there is a taint in the blood due to the original sin. This is what causes our shorter life span. But back then there was no taint. Brother could marry sister without harm.

So when Cain went to a city, he married either a sister, or a relation from one of his sisters and brothers.

There are no holes in the bible. There are no mistakes other then those man himself has introduced. The problem is most people simply do not know how to actually read and understand it. They do not know how to rightly divide the word of truth to seperate the man made errors and contradictions out.

And thus are so many destroyed through 'lack of knowledge'.

The Bible is not the story of every human to ever live. It states that Adam and Eve were the first people created. It then says that they had Cain and Abel. It never states that these were the ONLY people created by the Lord. There are holes in all history because it was not possible to record everything that ever happened. I give my life to the Lord because it is my choice to do so. Real faith comes from just believing.

I'm sure that Adam and Eve had other grown children by that time and that is how Cain got his wife. Remember that they had been kicked out of the garden. What do you think that they done, stayed in one spot? I'm sure they walked around and called one place different from another, this way they wouldn't get lost and developed a sense of direction. All one has to do is do reasonable thinking and know this, because the bible says Eve was the mother of all living.

The only reason the Bible might even be considered full of mistakes is because man translated it down the wrong way . If you take the Bible as a whole , it would take a near genius to write such things . Prove the Bible wrong , I challenge you . How do you explain human existance , do you think we just grew out of a puddle ? What about the order of the universe , there are too many variables for it to just happen to work out right without the aid of a higher power . Which is better right or wrong ? Right just seems to be better because happiness and love and peace are quite pleasant . God is love . 2nd Timothy 3:16-17

You've already made your mind up not to listen to the answer but .... Cain obviously married his sister or neice. They were closer to perfection back then because Adam & Eve had not long introduced imperfection into the human race so inbreeding problems would not happen like today.
The Bible has no holes. All answers are there if you're intelligent enough to look.

Anyway, even though you won't be interested in the answer - many thanks to you for giving other interested ones the opportunity of finding out. You're a star!

In the beginning the bloodline was so pure and perfect that Adam and Eve lived for almost 1000 years this reduced (mortality rates) over the first millenium or so. Adam and Eve had many many children who intermarried and dispersed Adam and Eve would have been around for their great great great great etc etc grandchildren.........

People in the early years had hundreds of children.. More importantly in those years of "the beginning" it is recorded that Angels "super human beings"
Gen: "say that the daughters of man were fair" and came down to earth and had sex with them

Some of us are decended from that bloodline....

Gen 4:16 ¶ And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
Gen 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
The actual Scripture says that he knew his wife. He was already with his wife when he left the land of his father. His wife was the daughter of his father. SO before you ask a question I would ask that you have your facts straight about the question in the first place.

THIS QUESTION AGAIN...OK, HERE WE GO
Were do we start... apparently you didn`t even read the Bible (if you are going to make a question, inform yourself at least).
Well, if you have read it you probably missed the part were it says adam lived like 900 years... how many children you think a man can have in that time, without a tv??? thousands...ok (including girls, that is all in the Bible, but you probably missed it too).
Cain also lived hundreds of years...does the Bible say he was 30 when he come to Nod?...no. He might be 500 by that time, at least thousands of persons more were living of earth by that time...
Is it so hard to understand??

Genesis 5:4 reads '{Adam} became father to sons and daughters'. So Cain must have married one of his sisters or nieces. Living at the beginning of human history and hence so close to perfection such a union wouldn't have posed the health risks it would today. Do your research before you start mouthing off; it makes you look stupid.

You have overlooked:

1) The story may be a parable.

2) Cain and Abel had ribs.

3) God can create new humans from dust.
